That's a great number! For comparison, Rihanna had the most hype for a single I've seen in years before FourFiveSeconds dropped AND that had the power of Kanye West + Paul McCartney... it sold 53,000 copies its first week  :tea2:

It hit its peak 2 weeks later selling 181,000 copies after the video dropped + getting radio support. We're far from doomed, this is a great start.

Rise, Pretty Gorls, rise, this is the beginning

To make a slight correction to my above post... FourFiveSeconds sold 53,000 in an incomplete week, but in its first full week it sold about 130,000 copies.. again, that was a HUGELY hyped single that people were literally buzzing about for months. Rihanna, before she destroyed her hype with shit singles, had the most anticipated album and single in a long time. Plus, Kanye and Paul McArtney have a lot more fans than Igloo  :zoomzoom:

I know it's not all about comparisons, but people saying 100,000 copies for a first week is bad are just dumb. Music is increasingly easy to torrent now, and streaming has become huge. Radio dictates what gets popular, if we keep it thriving on radio it will rise in sales  :smokeney:

if the video isn´t coming this week, pg will only sell 40k in week two....

then in week 3 we'll just get an even bigger jump

So what? It's new music, new music video and new performance. This is all that matters...!!!

and that comes from someone who doesn't actually like this song...

We can't know what the future will be, but for the present, it's fine. Not great but not bad considering she only did 2 radio interviews. I can't understand how the fuck you want it to sell billions and be #1 on BB with 0 promo :drown: be realistic in the first place and maybe you wouldn't be disappointed in the end.

These are actually really good numbers :mhm: barely any pop star manages to sell 100 k and over in the first week (trust me) so Yay :D i am really proud of her!

not that bad for a single with almost no promo yet and basically no plans for an album revealed. i remember work bitch was mega-hyped-up by will.i.am, the production team and even team britney. like we were already using the phrase "you better work" a month before the song leaked
