Had the performance been more "wow", it probably would have boosted sales more.

i think if the performance was at least half live, people would look at it with a different perspective and sales wouldn't be so dissapointing. it was alright but watching something that is happening at the moment is undeniably more entertaining than pre-recorded performance that could've been edited several times. I was higly dissapointed by that.

and funny thing is they had time to make some good editing yet they decided to cut off the best dancing parts, make much more close ups on the dancers than iggy and britney what I cannot understand, but oh well. at least to my surprise it received mostly positive reviews from the critics

the fuck is dat anyway :orangu:

I've just listened to Back To Basic, Lotus once and own a copy of Bionic, but I'm defenitely not so impressed by her music :orangu:

FlopWash is also an OST. It's from the movie Shark Flop

The GP didn't know it was pre-recorded though. Literally only Britney fans knew that. The broadcast made it appear as though they went over to PH and did it. That has nothing to do with the sales right now.

I meant if it was performed at BBMAs where every other artist made an apperance, sorry for my mistake. i know that right now it has nothing to do with sales, but it was very important promotional step which turned out to be a total failure

everyone was expecting PG to go number one on iTunes after the performance and it didn't even enter top 20. I didn't expect it to be number one, I'm not that delusional but it looks like the performance didn't help a lot, lets be real.

It still wouldn't make a difference if it was performed on the BBMA stage or not. It aired live on everyone's TV, people heard the song. It wasn't a total failure, it moved the song up several spots on iTunes. Thinking it would shoot to #1 is ridiculous, especially given that Taylor dropped a new single that night with a video premiere. We need radio support for it to grow, that's the bottom line now. Every song that's big on iTunes is big on radio. Hey Mama, Shut Up & Dance, etc. were not instant hits.

lol i can't at ppl saying the performance being pre-recorded is affecting sales, like the GP gives a fuck about that. do you see anyone dragging sam smith because his speech was pre-taped?

Well, I agree that nowadays radio support is the most important thing. Radio spins = sales, streams etc etc.

This is the way all of these popular songs right now became hits. But all I'm trying to say, is that if the BBMAs performance was more wow, people would defenitely consider buying/listen to the song much more. I don't know about you, but sometimes when you don't like a song, after watching some excellent performances or even the music video, you're able to change your mind very quickly just because you got impressed by them. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is how I feel and this performance wasn't anything special tbh. Yep, it was good to see her confidence back and she looked amazing but overall it was just a "safe" act.

Also, I'm not gonna lie, but Pretty Girls was such a weak single choice imo. I don't like this song at all (not trying to be rude about it, I'm just not feeling it) and many fans had very mixed opinions from the beggining as well, the same situation that had a place when Work Bitch leaked. It's not one of those songs which guarantees you a hit, because it can be interpreted in million different ways. I won't be surprised if it won't get into top 20 on Billboard and not saying it's bad, but yeah. I personally find it too girly and too cute. Maybe the nest single will be more promising. But I hope that PG still somehow becomes a hit  :)

No I totally know what you mean. The performance was fun, safe, but there wasn't that extra 'WOW' factor which honestly could have be given very easily, but I'm just happy that Brit gave a good, confident performance. As for the single itself... yea, it's not Britney's best. Again, it's fun, safe, but nothing too special. I like it enough, I listen to it and I like the video... but I'm hoping it's basically MATM 2.0 and we're about to get a Toxic  :bomt:

Yeah, I also think if they didn't cut the dance scenes (same with the music video) it would be million times better and totally slay everyone :P Hopefully, but I'm scared if PG won't become a hit, her label won't realease anything new too fast. And tbh I'm okay with this as long as the quality of the song will be really good, I'm not here for another BJ era mess :orangu:

I was thinking the same, nowadays performances do nothing tbh, of course unless it's sth controversial about what people will talk about.

Well, some fans live in their own bubble sometimes, you cannot help it. Especially when their favorite artist releases a new song/record  :pieceofwhat: But we can't blame them for that, all they want is good. I know it's really annoying when you're trying to be realistic and they are drag your ass for nothing but being honest, it's also getting on me nerves when I see people acting that way. That's why I prefer not to talk anything and keep some things for myself using online forums most of the time  ;)

Guys have you ever thought that the song may not be that attractive to the gp? Even I don't like the song and I'm a fan.  Also Britney doesn't sell that much because she's been around 17 years but she is still consistent and relevant!!!

This time she performed the song after the release and she also did an awesome job!!!

Maybe the gp are not feeling this song at all...On the other hand it might still grow on them as they hear it on the radio...

Oh well, thank God we at least had few good days of streams from the video, because without that the song would have dropped a lot more considering the sales are low. The song might go down again this next week tho, since the views on the MV are decreasing, and she's just around #30 on itunes and still getting red updates.., let's just hope she's doing better on radio but i wouldn't bet on that.

I believe the song is just not made to be a hit, the GP doesn't seem to really like it or even being interested in it.

Oh well, if the song doesn't end up being a hit (I still think if the radio keep supporting it we have a chance to succeed) at least we'll still have a fun and colorful MV and a great performance on an award show! I know we all expected a smash, and I'm a LITTLE disappointed because it wasn't, but what can we do about it? We did everything we could and Britney herself didn't disappoint (her team kinda did), so yeah, just focus on the good things and don't be negative about it :)

I think a lot of ppl are being hasty! Only dropping by one position in the 2nd week is great actually! Most songs make a huge drop in the 2nd week because the sales cool down quite a bit. :nowaygif:

I think it's a bit premature to call this a fail. I think it's got great potential at radio and a good chance to be a climber on the charts... CALM DOWN ppl!

Keep requesting it at radio, keep gifting the song on itunes and keep watching it on vevo and stop being a negative nancy!  :kisskiss:

Thank you!! People here are so quick to jump the gun & call it a flop so they can go back to talking about what's coming next... Which we don't know if there is anything coming for a long time. So we need to try as hard as we can and keep our focus on pretty girls! This fan base never knows how to live in the moment. It's always about the next single or next album or next music video or next performance. We need to focus on pretty girls and making it a success. We can do it.

You don't get it, do you? The fans have done what they could, you can't literally force the general public into buying the song. If the public doesn't like Pretty Girls then it's just not going to stick, no matter how hard we try. Unfortunately, most of the comments about the song and video have been negative and we can't really change that. I like Pretty Girls but hey, it's not Till The World Ends or Work Bitch. I don't think it's underperforming cause it's Britney, I genuinely feel like it's lacking quality and fire and that's why it's not smashing.

The song is losing spins on the radio. It's doing poorly on digital. It's decreasing on streaming. The biggest promo is pretty much done an dusted. How. Do. You. Expect. It. To. Smash. It's not being quick to jump the gun or being negative, it's just being realistic and seeing things for how they are.

We can't really do anything tho, lbr the performance was the only big promo they planned for it. And it should have helped the song a lot more than it did. But it didn't. I doubt she's gonna do anything else for the song now, so i don't see how you expect it to miraculously go up in the charts in the future.

All we will do now will only prevent the song to fall hard, but we, fans, alone, won't make it rise by magic and can't make it a hit without GP support, radio support, and Britney's efforts. GP definitely don't seem to feel the song and there's nothing we can do, if even after a performance they didn't, it won't happen just like that out of nowhere. Also we can't support the song indefinitely either.
