Ironically i think her singles are the ones that are the immature tracks on her albums (not all of them), but she's had really good mature songs (for where she was when released) like:

i will be there

what u see is what u get

one kiss from you

where are you now

when your eyes say it

walk on by

heart

i run away

what it's like to be me

lonely

before the goodbye

when i found you

let me be

and then we kiss

breathe on me

touch of my hand

shadow

ooh ooh baby

why should i be sad

shattered glass

unusual you

out from under

manequinn

my baby

he about to lose me

trouble (..ish)

inside out

hold on tight

now that i found you

passenger

alien

don't cry

etc..

Yea, I'd like to see more experimentation with her music in the future. But there's nothing wrong with Britney releasing Pretty Girls. She's 33, not 80. I know that to some of you twinks and turds 33 seems old, but it's not. She can still make fun, mindless dance music. Is PG her best? No, not by miles. But she likes it. She wanted to work with Iggy and she did. I hope the 2nd single is a bit weirder and more distinctly Britney, but I don't want her to stop making the fun, danceable pop music that she's known for. Tom's Dinner was a good step.

I've been listening to And Then We Kiss and Unusual You a lot lately. Someday (I Will Understand) is also really good, one of the most underrated songs of hers. There's just so many songs that should've been singles, not to mention a lot more unreleased ones such as Love Is A State Of Grace... Blur is amazing as well! My favorite song from Circus. One of the reasons why I think Circus is far more better than Femme Fatale and Britney Jean. It has that vibe to it that makes it so special, dunno how to explain. That feeling I get when I connect to the song - it's priceless!

So yes, I'd be here for more songs like that. Definitely.

If we got an album with songs like And Then We Kiss, State of Grace and Unusual You I'd be so fucking slayed  :crying1:

I love the vibe of those + Showdown, TOMH, Breathe on Me, etc. No other pop stars do that kind of music like Brinni can  :smokeney:

I agree, even if i like Pretty Girls the lyrics are pretty bad imo. I really would like her to sing more mature things.

Honestly i feel like there is whole world between her music and who she is/what she says. I mean, i'm not saying her music has to look like her, but you know it's kinda funny how she says that she's a mom now, she doesn't feel comfortable doing some things anymore, she's ALWAYS talking about her kids etc.. And yet she's still there acting like she's 20yo, singing about superficial things, whatever. Even some songs in her 20s were more mature than what she is doing now, and there kinda was a correlation between her lyrics and the person she was at that time.

It's like her image doesn't fit her music anymore you know. That's probably also why GP probably doesn't really feel her music anymore, because the lyrics are bad and doesn't fit Britney.

Couldn't agree more

you're right, she's still young

i think it's different because she's been releasing music since her teenage years so she is "old" on those terms, as in longevity not age. and i think that releasing songs at this point in her life when it contrasts who she is is kinda redundant. PG would have fit better for Blackout or even ITZ cuz that's where she was back then. Nothing wrong with just poppy songs but it's about having a balance especially if she wants for people to take her craft seriously

Yea I agree, I just kinda get WHY Britney and her team thought PG was a good idea. Or even why she was just itching to do it. Her last few singles and videos, before PG, were Scream & Shout, Ooh La La, Work Bitch and Perfume. S&S she did nothing really for the video, same with OLL. Work Bitch was sexy (too sexy, according to Brit) and Perfume was a ballad the video got butchered. I think she just wanted to do a fun, ridiculous song and video where she could dress up and play around. Of course I'd have rather gotten something more artistic or whatever, but I think PG is really what Brit wanted.

I hope the next single really blows people away, I know Britney has the capability. I think PG really was testing the waters in a way. She's been recording for months and months, there must be a few great solo Britney songs that they're sitting on  :o

Her songwriting talent is often underestimated which makes me sad sometimes because she's a freaking genius. She's one of the few female artists who can make their songs sexy and at the same time, not dirty at all. You can hear the pure emotion in her voice. That's what I call quality. I'd literally melt if we got an album like that.

The GP notices that, too. My sister isn't a fan by any means but she always mentioned how she thought Britney could be sexy without being "gross", and how Christina and Miley and so many others ended up coming off so trashy because they went overboard. And her voice is so emotive, even when she's basically talk-singing. The way she plays with words is so unique, it's my favourite part of Pretty Girls tbh (the way she says Mars & Bizarre  :lmaolol:)

Rachel looks flawless in your new avi. I've been rewetting Friends on Netflix  :awkwarddd:

That's great!

I just realized my auto-correct changed rewatching to rewetting  :4music:

Yeah, totally agree, and I want her to maybe bring us some songs with deep message in them.

But I also think maybe this isn't really what she is going for...cuz she's doing music now for fun and not for something totally grand and different.

so...I do wish her would grow musically, but I doubt this is going to happen soon.

The answer is yes. Blackout and ITZ were only perfect because they were released at perfect moments in her life. The majority of her music from then on has been trying to capture the essence of "old Britney" with bland pop productions and safe moves. Britney herself stopped progressing musically. For fuck's sake, she has gone through the most public breakdown and subsequent rise back in fucking pop history and the most she can say about it is "naralone naralone naralone?" Sure it's nice to have fun singles (even though we have albums full of them already tbqfh), and Tom's Diner is an incredible step in the right direction, but honestly, she's holding back on the most compelling pop narrative of the 21st century.

Homegurl needs to find her voice again, because if she has nothing left to say, nobody's gonna listen :notimpressed:

This ×10. :mhm: Britney is so talented and has so much to say. She has the potential to release some absolutely genius material like she did years ago.

I agree. I think Britney's team needs to find a balance between pop and a mature and unique style. Also, lyrics that deal with more issues and helping people. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE PG. But it doesn't fit her at this point in her life at all. I would love for Britney to release more songs like Alien. But NOT work with will.i.am again. Maybe someone like William Orbit and Max Martin together could make a better record.

I realize 33 isn't old, but I think we need to realize as a fanbase that Britney won't be on top forever and that her teen phase is over. :sipstea:

I think Britney's albums always have enough of both "more serious" songs as well as those that are just funny, upbeat and feel-good songs. Even BJ had a good mixture of both, so I'm not worried about that... It's just the fact that she usually picks those that are more funny and catchy to be released as singles, which is also understandable cause that's the safest way to have a hit...

In the words of Britney "Im at the point in my career where I just want to have fun"

Shes still young , she could sing about pretty girls , shes just having fun thats all .. Did u not see how happy she was while filming the video? Her happiness is all that matters .. She feels she proved herself already .. Let the girl have her fun , we havent seen this side of Britney for a long time

You're actually right! Her albums usually keep a great balance between both types of songs, it's the singles choice what should change.

I think she should do a double disc album.

Disc 1 will appeal to the younger generations going through primary school, It should include much more rawness in her vocals with cute beats and catchy lyrics. This will help keep her fan base strong for years to come.

Disc 2 and for the life long fans, it should have a much more sexy/mature/grunge/urban/dance vibe to it like a mixture of, In The Zone, Blackout and Femme Fatale, a stack of collabs and dirty floor thumping rap Bridges... Preferrably Nicki.
