I would just like her to explore some other themes aside from clubbing and boys. That's why Tom's Diner is really interesting because it's lyrically so different to most of her songs.

You're actually right! Her albums usually keep a great balance between both types of songs, it's the singles choice what should change.

that's what i was saying as well

I think Til It's Gone would had been a greater single than WB, plus it would had fit into the whole 'personal' thing.

In the words of Britney "Im at the point in my career where I just want to have fun"

Shes still young , she could sing about pretty girls , shes just having fun thats all .. Did u not see how happy she was while filming the video? Her happiness is all that matters .. She feels she proved herself already .. Let the girl have her fun , we havent seen this side of Britney for a long time

Fans can't critique or wish for anything so long as Britney's happiness is the end-all-be-all of the discussion.

"Britney's happy cutting parts of BTI choreo, so we can't say we want it back."

"Britney's happy extending the residency so fans can't say that the cost is totally inconvenient for them."

Mama listen. Britney being happy is all that should matter because she was unhappy for so long. So long. You know that especially during 2002 to 2007 you could tell she was miserable. She was good at putting on a brave face and she did kill 99% of her performances back then but at what cost?

who knows why the choreo was cut that might not have been her decision. And vegas will be ending soon.

I just wish you would focus on something positive. All you do is say Britney is not doing her best, we all hear you.

Trust me, I love that Britney is happy. She deserves her happiness more than anything. You think I don't what Britney has gone through?

When someone makes a thread to start a simple discussion, there is no point in people always coming in to basically tell everyone else to shut up. The OP asked a simple question with regards to Britney as a musician and performer. Should Britney grow musically? Yes. Every artist should. To stay stagnant throughout your career is not commendable no matter what your profession is, no matter what you have been through (so long as you are physically and mentally able to work to your full potential).

I gave my opinion as an objective fan who does not and will not ever know Britney personally, so her personal issues were not something I took into account. That doesn't mean I don't wish her all of the best.

And no, I do not always say Britney is not doing her best. However, when I do, I do so in a respectful way. Never insulting Britney as a person.

I stand by my words.

Yes, I am aware that this thread is about music. I was giving hypothetical examples. My point is still valid.

I never said nor implied that Britney can't do what she wants.

And how rude of you to mock the concerns of fans who would have to pay thousands--not $56--to travel to Vegas. It's also rude to patronize me by calling me "boo boo".

Pretty girls is the first playful single Britney has had In years. And one of the Only playful songs period. She just wanted to have some fun in the video And performance.

Alien and Tom's diner are vibey and a bit darker and it would be cool to see videos for these songs.

Anyone who just listens to Britney's singles will not have a good representation of the more serious, spiritual, and mature themes.  The true fans know the unreleased songs and album tracks that give a more multi-dimensional picture of Britney the artist.  That being said, I would love more mature music that has a universal appeal.  That is probably more difficult said then done though, especially the ability to create distinguishable music that smashes the charts yet has a more adult-feel.

I think with Britney Jean they went in a more mature direction, but the songs just did not resonate.  Some themes were mature dealing with themes like a cheating ex, feeling alone in the world, a breakup, God, and spirituality.  This album reflected Britney the person more than people would probably credit.

If songs like Someday (I Will Understand) were hits then there would have probably been more similar singles released.  I think Someday is an amazing, mature, empowering song but it did not make a dent in the charts so I'm sure that prevented more emotional songs from being released.  I don't know if that was officially released as a single but I did hear it on Z100 a few times but it did not click with the GP.  Obviously no promo did not help but if a song like Scream & Shout is # 1 across the world, then more similar songs will likely follow.

I get that but we all have to respect her decisions

The people cant define an artist on who they should be or put out. Its the artist that defines them selves on what they feel is right for them, & what they should be doing not for us to be critiquing on what they should do

I get wht youre saying about the whole POM thing , but u need to understand Britney's part as well. Britney is not a selfish person , she always puts her family first before anyone else. Shes in vegas for a reason and she has repeated the reason numerous times in interviews.

Just save its simple .. Just save $150 per check and in a few months youll be vegas ready

Dont get me wrong I want her to tour as well but at the same time I understand why shes in Vegas

I think she should do a double disc album.

Disc 1 will appeal to the younger generations going through primary school, It should include much more rawness in her vocals with cute beats and catchy lyrics. This will help keep her fan base strong for years to come.

Disc 2 and for the life long fans, it should have a much more sexy/mature/grunge/urban/dance vibe to it like a mixture of, In The Zone, Blackout and Femme Fatale, a stack of collabs and dirty floor thumping rap Bridges... Preferrably Nicki.

So you basically want her to pull a Madonna ?

Sorry but no thats just kind of being fake tbh

This is exactly the problem. The music that Britney puts out is not defined by her but by what would sell better to the gp. The gp bought scream and shout and then Britney collaborated with Will.i.am on a whole album.

This is not how an artist should make music and Britney is not a newbie anymore trying to establish herself in the industry by making music that sells. In her 9th album she should explore her music directions. She made an impact by reviving pop music in the early 20's. Now she needs to make a new impact by bringing something original on the table.

All art is scrutinized, both positively and negatively. A singer getting feedback on their music is a good thing. Just because a person likes what they are doing, that doesn't mean that others should have nothing to say about the material they are releasing. Of course, it's up to Britney to do what she wants. That will never change and I don't want it to.

Every fan knows why Britney loves Vegas so much, and it's great she has found such a balance for work and personal matters. But like everything else, there are both pros and cons at play.

I like how you have a financial plan mapped out for me. Problem solved, I guess? :ummlol: Tell that to the people living across an ocean or who can't afford to save even that much. It's okay to say that going to Vegas is not a possibility for many fans. That's just the fact of the matter. Britney will do what she wants and the fans will say what they want in response.

What do u mean its not definied by her ? Shes a huge fan of Iggys & wanted to work with her and so she did

If it was for sales I doubt they would of got Iggy , especially knowing shes the worlds hated person .

Britney is now doing things her way and we are just gonna have learn to accept it whether we like it or not

Well then why waste your breathe ? Its not like Britney is gonna listen to what anyone has to say .. Its her life at the end of the day , all the whining and complaints is obviously not changing anything

This is a discussion forum. Should we just sit around and compliment Britney all day? While we all could easily do that, that doesn't accomplish anything either....

All Iggy's collaborations were mostly successful so from her label's side it was a "safe" duet...

What I'm trying to say is that now Britney can make her own choices and can take full control if she wants to but she doesn't. She relies too much on her team to deal with music when she could have full creative control.

More or less, it seems that they send songs to her team, they send some of them back to Britney, she listens to them and then they decide all together which ones they want to work on. Where is the creativity in that? I think it is getting very obvious to the gp as well. It is obvious that she tends to release generic songs with a potential to become hits instead of going a little deeper and taking risks.

Whose complimentin tho? Im just stating facts , all youre doing is whining about POM

Let me tell u what u can do

Instead of whining about POM on universe , fill out some job applications online & get a job with your broke self .. Simple as that problem solved and from there u can start saving your coint to see the Queen

I tried being respectful but ppl like u gotta keep going at it until u finally get bit

U cant force ur opinion on someone until they agree .. My point still the fuck stands nothin u say is gonna change that

Now we can agree to disagree and keep it moving

I dont think ur getting the point , Britney is just doing this for the fun of it ,she already proved herself . Youre leaving that out

If Britney wanted to be on top again , she would be touring and puttin herself out there more

When artists go to Vegas that just means they want to settle down and thats exactly what Britney is doing its only obvious she not tryin to be out there anymore

So what do you think about Britney's direction musically? Do you think she is still evolving or do you justify her stagnation (which i think is steps backwards mostly) because she decided that she has achieved everything and now it's time to settle down?

What is wrong with you? I have been nothing but respectful.

You sound so ignorant telling me to get a job with my "broke self". I am a nursing major with a job in home health care. So you can fuck off. I was speaking on behalf of majority of the fanbase. For the people who don't live in the US and aren't able to get to Vegas as easily as an American citizen like myself. Never did I complain, but rather pointed out the downsides of a residency.

Seriously, how old are you?

Mmmm thats a good question tbh I feel like its a little bit of both tbqh, like shes definitely evolving but a bit stagnated (not really moving) at the same time if u get what Im saying

There will be a moment tho where she will snap out of this whole Vegas thing and get back to her roots

It just seems like she wants to lay low for a while thats all

U know what youre right that was wrong of me & I apologize

Like I said I get where u are coming from ,but we also have to get where Britney is coming from as well

I mean who knows maybe Britney will eventually come thru and go on tour

Dont get me wrong , I'd rather her go on tour then do this residency but it would be quite selfish to think of what is better for us then what Britneys needs & wants are as well

Fair enough. I understand where you are coming from as well.
