Stalker: Masahiko Shizawa



The story of Britney Spears and Masahiko Shizawa, the man who was stalking her in 2002, is definitely a weird one.

It all started when the Japan native, who was said to be madly in love with Brit, began sending Spears love letters, e-mails and pictures of himself along with messages like "I'm chasing you." A restraining order was issued, but Shizawa still stalked Brit outside two of her houses as well as her parents' home, trying to gain entry wherever he could.

Then, in an odd turn of events, Shizawa ended up trying to!sue!Spears after a confrontation ensued with her bodyguards outside of her house. He claimed he suffered "extreme emotional stress" after one of Brit's protectors pointed a gun at the man. However, the case was quickly dismissed.

Britney Spears will drop her bid for a restraining order against the Japanese man she claimed had stalked her after lawyers for the two sides reached an agreement, a Los Angeles court spokesperson said yesterday (April 16).

Attorneys for the 21-year-old singer were expected to file court papers tomorrow asking that the case be dismissed, the spokesperson said, but were not expected to release details of the out-of-court agreement. A spokesperson for Spears could not be reached for comment. Lawyers for Spears and Shizawa also could not be reached.

Spears went to court in December to request that 41-year-old Masahiko Shizawa of Yokohama, Japan, be ordered to stay at least 1,000 yards away and claiming that he had been "stalking" her for months. 

Spears asserted in court papers that Shizawa had sent her hundreds of love notes, many with photographs of himself and one that said: "I'm chasing you." The Louisiana-born superstar also alleged that Shizawa had tracked her to the homes of her divorced parents, her Hollywood home, and a third residence. 

But during a brief January court hearing, Shizawa's lawyer called the stalking allegations a "cultural misunderstanding" and insisted that his client -- reportedly a computer programmer -- had no intent to bother Spears.

Former American Idol contestant Miranda Tozier-Robbins was arrested yesterday after sneaking onto Britney Spears’ property and looking in the windows of her mansion. The alleged stalker was clad in a camouflage outfit, according to E! News:

According to the Malibu/Lost Hills Station, an L.A. County Sheriff’s deputy arrested 26-year-old Miranda Tozier-Robbins on suspicion of trespassing and disorderly conduct after security guards spied her peeping into Spears’ abode.
After realizing, “Hey, that isn’t the window washer,†one of the private guards asked her to leave the prestigious Oaks neighborhood. When she seemed reluctant to do so, they physically escorted her off the property and called the cops.
E! News has exclusively learned that Tozier-Robbins auditioned for American Idol in Boston in October 2005 with the Spears tune “Everytimeâ€â€“and made it to the second round.
Obviously, she didn’t make it into the spotlight, but it was an improvement for her after being denied a golden ticket the previous year in Orlando. She subsequently blogged all about her experience.
In addition to listing Spears as her favorite artist, Tozier-Robbins wrote in her “about me†section: “I have issues but I’m working on them.â€

Obviously this is all part of a coordinated effort by the producers of American Idol to kill current pop stars making the show a necessity to fill the void. — I want in.
