At this days and age, it is undeniably that the Britney Spears power and magnetism are on the decline. Countless arguments and reasons for this decline have been mentioned so I won't go there. jlo.gif

It is harder and harder each year for Britney Spears to be both an innovator or trend setter of music, and a major staple in sales. As a Britney dedicator for years, I know that made us so proud of Britney the Pop Star.  mcry.gif

-- So Now if she has to choose to go the money route, she would go generic and blend in the crowd. Her songs will be predictable musically, more collaborators, but sales and top 20 hits guaranteed. Aka Pitbull, Selena, Ariana, Maroon 5.  mcry.gif

--- Or she can pick the artistry ways. Go against the flow, depart everything trendy and top 40. Go rogue. Making music that's different, and audience-selective, but critically praised. cutesmile.gif This might be a random bet on sales and charts, as she might flop, or might lead a trend again. But the focus is on innovating and creativity. Example of this movements are FKA Twigs, MNEK, Florence and the Machine, Gorgon City, Rudimentals, early Ellie Goulding, etc  werk.gif

*** This is not a vote, but if you have to pick a path for her to go on (supposed with the ideal that she'd chose to keep her career going), which one would you lead her to?  overit.gif

I don't think she would ever choose a different type of genre of music.  :bomt:

You know the story - she's a cash cow, seen as a cash cow, her team is retarded, etc.

I would not mind her going in a different direction, as long as the quality of her songs persists.

I personally hope for a Britney, Jamie Lynn duo album. (Hint, hint).

The press would eat the album up! They'd love it!

It's on you when you choose another theme to be coo and faded baby  :queenflopga:

No she doesn't need to go the indie route, she just needs more input in what she puts out without her team changing things on her and she needs solid songwriting, solid singing and solid beats. I'm sure she'll get that again at some point but even if she did that you have to remember that even when she was at her strongest the public could have cared less. Her biggest most memorable hits post debut are oops, slave 4 u, toxic, everytime, and maybe circus and til the world ends. They didnt really give her albums a listen because sales have steadily been decreasing since the 3rd album. The public just tends to grow tired of people after a while so I wouldn't worry about her conquering the world again.

I think making more alternative music would give her a lot of credibility, but she shouldn't stop making "generic" radio friendly songs. What I'm saying is that she could do something in between those options, you know? Make pop songs with a touch of creativity that would attract people and make them say "Wow, she's really trying this time".

i am pretty sure that is exactly what she wanted to do for the longest time (change her music direction) but her team wont let her. i am just so sure they are the ones still making her do the generic music most people would b drawn too. (kind of like maroon 5 and well every mainstream artist). i would LOVE for her to change direction. and indie is EXACTLY the direction i also myself thought of for her. or like lana del rey type of music (her first cd) , alanis morissette, adele. i would love to hear more beautiful ballads. they would fit her soo well and like have that type of songs for almost entire cd. that would b cool. also i hate how her voice is soo processed in her latest songs. i want songs like rihanna- simple but clear voice. something more experiemental - something she hasn't done before like during itz era or chaiotic era. mona lisa was everything and im still dying for a song like that again. i dont kno what type of music that would considered but a guess more urban and im still waiting for an urban 2015 britney song. i havent gotten it still unfortunately  :tea2:

as the official resident indie connoisseur of Universe, this thread has my blessing :Godney:

FKA Twigs' sound would be hella amazeballs for Brit, especially since Arca is so versatile. Pairing a few "PBR&B" sounds with a few of the softer orchestral mixes he helped shape on Bjork's last record would be godly. I frequently push for Arca/James Blake/SOHN to produce for B9 :britney-awyeah: to produce a maturer, chillier version of Blackout, on par pop-wise with Ray of Light in its innovation and depth.

TEAM BRITNEY IF YOU'RE READING THIS PAY ATTENTION AND RETURN BRITNEY TO HER POP VANGUARD THRONE :likethat:

Get the rainbow out of your head please

I would love this. I always thought she would sound amazing doing a song like "Stonemilker" or "Lionsong" by Björk. I feel that the "Tom's Diner" cover is a step in the right direction even if it isn't as experimental as the two I listed.

One of the things I´ve always loved about Britney is that her music sounds different from generic pop. But I feel with BJ and especially with

pretty girls  :4music:  she has become sort of mainstream (?) idk I´m not convinced  :frenchy:

I love the urban feel of ITZ, the darkness of the leaks from originall doll and electric sounds of BLACKOUT. I love how she experimented in circus with

If you seek amy or kill the lights!!!

So yeah i don´t want her to do mainstream pop, i want dark sounds, dark concepts, something like the sweet dreams interlude in visuals and something

between originall doll, circus, FF and Blackout as what the sound should be so yeah  :bomt:
