Meh.. I'm sorry but Taylor's song is better, in my opinion, of course. The video is better, she looks pretty and fresh, there's a storyline and all that, the remix with Kendrick is beast and there was some controversy behind the song before it was even released to be a single, if I'm not mistaken. Let alone the fact that 1981 sold almost like Oops which makes it a piece of cake for Taylor and her successful singles, three of which became worldwide hits. What did PG have? :orangu: What I mean is, unless Britney tries something innovative and pretty much bring Oops/Britney/ITZ era and gets to promote, I'm sure success would follow her. But we all know that it's not her major priority, so I can't see it happening. All in all, I don't think it's Britney's time now, there are a lot of new artists out there who need to have their spot of light, so I guess people should learn to accept that and give them a try. It's just not the right time. I can't believe that people have been discussing what I've just said for more than 5 years. :orangu::gloria: That said, we ain't getting another peak in Brit's career, I'm sorry.  :ohno:  my opinion, don't kill me :pieceofwhat:

Well, when the music is bad it just can't do miracles.. and especially when there is no promo, hype, or whatever. Britney is nowhere to be seen the whole year, she's stuck in Vegas, then poof she comes back with a featuring, an autotuned song with stupid lyrics and absolutely no hype from her team, MV is being released with only a tweet to make people know about it, there's no proper promo, and now it looks like they already moved on. I don't even know how we expected a hit in the first place.

I don't like Taylor but she's having great sales because her music is actually great and she's moving her ass to have these sales, that's it. She's not like Britney doing nothing waiting for money to grow on trees.

I don't think the pop world is falling apart, I mean, Ariana and Taylor smashed last year, Katy Perry did very good in 2013/14 too... The problem with Britney and Rihanna is that they haven't promoted properly this year, but the rest of the pop acts have been doing really good. In my opinion pop music will always be popular.

Tbh it´s true, there are good songs and artists out there, but since 2012-2013 pop music is just uterly bad in general.

Now lbr taylor swifts sells millions of albums and singles each time she comes, and she has great songs, there are other exceptions as well but in

general pop music sucks nowadays.

And tbh kpop which i got into recently (2013) is only getting better and better each year, with experimental sounds, new groups, old ones trying new

stuff, is so refreshing especially compared to mainstream US/europe pop tbh

Britney could resurrect the pop world if she innovated and created amazing new sounds and music, but instead we got PG i guess

Britney needs to reinvent herself and start her career from scratch if she wants to stay on top after almost 20 years. I don't understand why she doesn't try new concepts, risky stuff and, of course, new sounds. Everything she does is safe and expected, that's why it doesn't smash.

Madonna did it with 'Ray Of Light' and it took her back to the #1 spot. Like, gurl, create a fake stage persona, change your name, your image, upgrade your brand, anything. Make it fun. But this is just my opinion, tho :smokeney:

She could officially debut as Mona Lisa. :uhhuh: Seriously, it would probably be fun for her to take on a new stage persona entirely. :ummlol:

I think it's just the fact that the song itself wasn't very good and also Iggy is pretty much one of the most hated pop act atm imo. Even will.i.am didn't get as much hate at the S&S time and also GP likes him more imo than Iggy. That plus the fact that there is no ''real'' promotion; BBMA performance was good, but nothing spectacular that would gain the song any new attention.

And I don't understand how some of you say that Taylor is doing better cause she have better songs. Seriously? :zoomzoom: I mean, every single person can have their own taste, but let's not pretend Shake It off or Bad Blood are masterpieces, cause they are just not. Imo SIO is one of the most annoying songs of last year. It's just that it's her time now and she has a really strong fanbase, plus she does all that promotion and is trying really hard to be loved (using Facebook, Twitter, TUmblr etc etc) ...

I still think Britney could have a hit song in her hands if she wanted and if she picked better songs. I still have hope that PG was just a transitional single and that the real "artsy fartsy" songs are still coming our ways. :yas:

The way some of you obsess over success makes me wonder if Britney released an itz type of album with Britney Jean promotion and numbers if it would still be held as one of her best. Enjoy the music, stop worrying about the numbers.

I kinda agree with the most of you except for the fact that you consider Taylor's music good...

It's the most boooooring music ever and she is the most  awfully booooring artisy ever and I will never understand what exactly makes her standout from any 20 year old college girl that sings pretty at karaoke parties...pfff

One thing is for sure...people's taste is getting worse and worse...

Sweetie thats just them 3 , but the Major major pop stars are the ones that are falling thats what she means

The reason why Taylor, Ariana, & Katy is on top of the world right now is because they make music that everyone including children can listen to

When u make music thats just for Adults it has its limits

Britney made music that everyone could listen to even for the kids BOMT/ Oops (thats why she sold 30 mill)

Once Britney shed her good girl image sales were still good but definitely went down

Rihanna has done a lot of promo, tho. There was HUGE hype before FFS and then she performed it at The Grammy Awards and it got a video. She promoted BBHMM on Jimmy Kimmel, performed it on iHeartRadio Awards and SNL; American Oxygen got a video, was the official song of March Madness meaning it played in ALL of their promos and during games, she performed it live there + on SNL as well. The major problem she's having is simply quality of music. FFS is great but not on her typical single level, and BBHMM and AO are just shit tbh  :smokeney:

sweety if she flops this era too,it will be so hard for her to recover and her career as a pop star will be over. Sales and success aren't everything but they are important.

And she's still successful even if she isn't on the top of every chart. Some of you seem to believe it's number one or nothing and that's not the case. Especially for an artist like Britney.

Her sucess is declining each day,fft and pom, lack of high endorsementdeals etc. are biggest proofs.

And it has nothing to do with no.1.

Its simple as this Britney has disconnected herself from gp and ppl who loved her (but weren't stans),she already has 1 awful and flop era under her belt and it seems b9 era will flop too. Its awfully hard to find a success after one let alone 2 flop eras best examples Gwen, fergie,Christina,Avril etc.

So no success isn't everything but it is important (also more she flops less money for new projects= bad music and mv videos etc.)

I guess you ignored the part where I said she's still successful. Britney Jean "flopping" is a matter of fan opinion because a top 5 debut is not a flop in my opinion. It's not the best, but it's not as disastrous as people make it seem.

Britney is thriving in Vegas and it's not only the die hard Britney stans that are attending. She has a billion dollar perfume line, and another one to be released this month. She just started her lingerie line, which again is very successful. So while she's not topping the music charts, she is still successful and able to create music for the joy of creating it and not to be number one everywhere

it sold like 300k in US and maybe 100k in rest of the world, its a fucking flop hahahah

I wouldn't call her lingerie line "successful" especially bcz we don't have any official sales numbers.

And since you've missed everything I've said lets put it this way every project that she has put out music wise has flopped 2013- (and on top of everything all of those projects were pretty awfull)

Fft had huge deceline compared to circus tour, ffs my date was 40% sold out :orangu: ,pom is starting to deceline too (each leg more and more).

I did not call her a complete flop, but if she continues to thread her fans and music/pop star career this way,she will join xtina soon :)

And even critics have labeled bj as a career damaging flop :orangu:
