Yesterday I created a poll where you guys could vote which music video we should focus on next and the winner was...

Here are some facts about OIDIA (song and video) that you obviously know but may encourage you to watch the video again :wink1:

- The song was written by Max Martin, who wrote Britney's first hit, "Baby One More Time"

- While shooting scenes for the video, Britney was struck in the head by a falling camera and began bleeding. Though she didn’t suffer a concussion, as her mother Lynne suggested, she received four stitches for her injury. She continued to work after resting for four hours.

- Iconic red latex jumpsuit was totally her idea.

“‘I want to be in a red jumpsuit. I want to have a really cute spaceman, but there can’t be any rockets,'†director Nigel Dick recalled Spears’ request in a 2009 MTV interview. “There was another catsuit, actually, which was fantastic, which I loved, and the night before, I was told that Britney hired this guy that worked with Michael Jackson. And so we’re going to use that catsuit. So that’s the catsuit.†The suit’s designer, Michael Bush, reportedly pulled an all-nighter to finish the outfit in time for the shoot.

- Britney also brought the idea of dancing in Mars.

"The song is basically about a girl and all these guys fall in love with her and she just can't have it. When I meet a guy that I'm seriously attracted to, I get butterflies in my stomach, total brain fart, I don't know what to say. That's what I like about this song. It's really honest and fun to perform. ... This whole idea was my idea. I was like, 'I want to be on Mars, dancing on Mars"

- The video was shot on the same sound stage as Jurassic Park.

The overall filming for the music video took place between March 17 and 18, 2000 at Stage 24 in Universal City, Calif. Movies such as Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, National Treasure, Raising Helen, You Me & Dupree, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End also shared that stage.

- The astronaut in the music video is now a surgeon.

Eli Swanson, who plays the astronaut that gives Spears the necklace from Titanic in the music video, traded in his spaceman suit for a scrubs. He graduated Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2006 and now works as a trauma surgeon in the Phoenix, Ariz. area.

- Who provided the male voice for the Titanic-inspired voice over part? It was the song's producer Max Martin.

Now watch the making of the video:

Are you feeling nostalgic?? :inneresting:

If you want to make the thread nicer, tell us about the first time you listened to the song/watched the video.

I became a fan in 2008 and started watching all her videos right after Womanizer came out and even though I had listened to the song before, with the music video developed a serious obsession with Oops. I COULDN'T STOP! My family was like: You're 8 years late honey :eyeroll:

Here's OIDIA for you:

It's a shame that video isn't up on her actual Vevo/YouTube accounts, I know people who have never seen the "Overprotected" remix video before.   :umomg: One of her best from the look to the dancing and the song is damn good too.  I love sassy-sexy Britney.   :britney-badass:

The thing is we're focusing on the videos that are closer to the certification.

Technically, Piece Of Me is closer than Oops but considering Oops gains more views per day it will be easier to cerfify, and by that time both POM and Everytime will be +90 000 000/95 000 000 :)

Slave is the following one ;)

Overprotected Darkchild Remix wasn't uploaded to her VEVO :crying3:

We should focus on stronger too :)

Stronger is totally one of my favorite music videos ever. It just slays so hard and she looks STUNNING!

The thing is it currently has 48 000 000 views and there are lots of videos much closer to the certification

Do y´all think we could get ALL her videos certified?   :umomg:

Some have not so many views   :crying1:

Well, we've already certified 9 of her videos and Pretty Girls gains LOTS of views per day. It'll be certified in a heartbeat ;)

It's definitely gonna take time, but to know videos like Oops, Everytime, Overprotected, Slave, Crazy, Sometimes, IANAGNYAW, all over 50 000 000 views after so many years of their release is so nice :xf10:
