No it's not her best work, but it's certainly not her worst. I enjoy it for what it is, a fun, catchy bop. I still listen to it regularly. I feel SOME people are just hating on it because it hasn't done well, bearing in mind, it's done quite decently in Australia and the UK. Plus, the video was a lot of fun!  :pieceofwhat:

I think ppl hate it bcz it fancy rip off,and compared to rest of Britney lead singles, its just not good song. Gp was probably annoyed with Britney baby vocals. Plus lyrics are simply awful.

I love Pg,its not a great song, but it isn't awful either, second verse still slays me :paper:

Fans mostly hate it bcz its not good enough song for a Britney lead, plus most fans are disappointed with BJ era 2.00.

Nicki shitgas fans and hive hated it,bcz they are pressed towards iggy and Britney.

True, it pretty much is a Fancy 2.0 and it's most probably her weakest lead single to date, that is, if it even is a lead single at all.  I actually love her vocals on it though.

Mte, I love that second verse.

Totally agree with you on that last statement.

Idk if you ever talked with gp or someone from your family, but whenever is Britney mentioned most of them say this. I love the song but her baby/chipmunk vocals are annoying.

Hence why amost of her recent successful song don't have baby autotuned vocals lol. Hiam/s&s/circus/womanizer/ ttwe (to certain extent),IauSA

Iwg and 3 were successful bcz those vocals worked well for the songs

Now that you mention it, I don't think they considered Pretty Girls as a lead single when they decided to release it, it's more of a buzz single, a special summer release, that's why it's nothing spectacular meant to lead to an album. I'm sure Britney just wanted to release a fun song and wasn't really thinking about putting out an epic anthem or something like that. (I don't know if this makes sense  :pieceofwhat: )

Maybe people were expecting a "lead single material" song and that's why they were disappointed.

Can't say I have so I didn't really now that haha. Personally, I like that she sounds a little more 'natural' rather than being full out robotic like most of her recent songs.

That's a good point.

Let's hope you're right :queenflopga:

'because the song flopped' is the worst excuse I've heard

so why does everyone love Slave for example? it has also flopped if we compare both

I personally disliked it since we got that longer snippet, the sound just wasn't my cup of tea. It sounds too girly and not Britney style at all, also her vocals are terribly edited. I umderstand it's a fun song and I have nothing against Brit releasing such music but with good quality, not some cheap production.

I don't hate it, i just wouldn't love another song like PG. And it's not that bad but for a lead single it deserves every hate it gets, it's basic for it. :lips1: Hopefully it's just a buzz single. :yaknow:

For a buzz single, I think it's pretty decent, but like you said, it's definitely not a strong lead single :mhm:

I never really liked it... Its too basic and not Britneys signature sound.

The MV and performance made up for it though :queenflopga:

But altogether its a sucky song

I suppose you could say it's a 'guilty pleasure' for me except I have no shame in liking it :queenflopga:

It's definitely not a high quality song, but it's fun and catchy and cool and we got a great MV and performance like you said :queenflopga:

Oh for goodness sake I didn't say I thought EVERYONE hated it for that reason. Try to actually read properly.

Ok fair enough.

Though the song is not my cup of tea, I never really bashed it or called it basic. I like it for what it's and I won't hate it for what itsn't, that is being her worst song (not really) or being unsuitable for the radio (when it's nowhere as bad as half of the songs there and it'd have been a perfect summer smash). PG isn't a musical masterpiece, it wasn't meant to be, so using its quality to bash the song itself and its (under)performance is stupid :juggingu:

The funny thing about the 'unsuitable for the radio' part is that it's become one of her most played hits in years over here in Australia. Work Bitch didn't get even half the amount of plays.

But yes, I totally agree with you :mhm:

I know you said some people, all I was trying to say is that I've just seen so many users on this forum bringing "low" sales & chart position as an excuse for people not liking PG and I just don't get it, the same goes to Britney Jean. if they both were good enough I'm pretty sure more people would love them as much as other "flops" she has released in the past, because it's not like every single of hers is succesful.

PG ain't the worst song on the planet, but it's not good either, the production lacks something. if I was an Iggy fan I'd probably like it since it has very similar bass to Fancy, but I'm not and I'm expecting a little bit more from Britney, but it's just my personal opinion and what I feel about this whole situation.

Oh, I see. Personally I like both PG and Britney Jean (despite some exceptions) despite their lack of success.

I can agree that it's not what you'd consider to be a 'good' song but it's fun and catchy and I take it for what it is. But I am definitely hoping for something much different come the next single.
