the only reason why it was on the album was because she directed a movie called brave new girl :fall: and it didnt have a soundtrack and it obviously wasnt going to get a single release, so it had to go somewhere :fall:

Source? I mean, I don't doubt it's the truth, but I've never seen that anywhere.

honestly i kinda see them as being two sides to the same coin. in the zone is the upbeat, positive and ~free~ album, just about having a good time and chilling out. it's light. blackout is the darker side to the coin, the psychotic and neurotic one. there's much less freedom on it and you can feel an undercurrent of tension. they'll always be her best albums and two of my 3 favourite albums of all time.

that being said, i'd have to say blackout > in the zone > britney > baby one more time + femme fatale > circus > britney jean > oops

Blackout. I think that it perfectly captured the sound and feel she was going for whereas ITZ still had some ... questionable fillers (I Got That Boom Boom, The Hookup, Brave New Girl). Imo all are good songs, but unnecessary. Though you could argue that Blackout has that one song the fan base seems to hate, Why Should I Be Sad, Blackout is pretty much pop perfection. Raw, energetic, fast-paced, and in your face. By the time of that album she'd been in the industry a decent amount of time, had seen some shit, and she just KILLED it with the tracks.

That being said, Femme Fatale is still my favorite because it's sugary pop perfection. FF + Blackout <3
