Blackout - Several demos leaked beforehand.

Circus - I don't remember this era tbh

FF - Hold it against me demo, then bonus tracks.

BJ - Passenger / Alien demo leak, then the bonus tracks.

 

We haven't even had the leaks on the Pretty Girls stems or Tom's Diner main vocal version

So if we're lucky those might leak right before the album release, or something from the album will.

When leakes happen before the official release ppl end up ID'ing it & choose not to purchase it when the official release happens.. Although ID still happens when the official release is out but still not as much as when it gets leaked

Agree, I do think that in some cases leaks can even help with the hype. But I don't know, in this case the surprise effect could help...

Exactly, sometimes early leaks can help build hype for the actual release. That's why a lot of celebs leak their own songs now before they're officially released.

on another note, I'm glad I'm not the only person who doesn't remember the Circus era   . I remember every era, even BOMT as a small child but for the life of me I cannot remember anything Circus related and I was in high school (besides Womanizer coming to scalp us all).

The whole FF album leaked 2 weeks ahead of its release.

+ Some demo versions like Gasoline leaked after the release

 

I don't know, Britney and her team still haven't made an announcement, by doing so I think they can prevent it from leaking. I really do think they are doing EVERYTHING to keep this as mysterious as fck.

 

Shooting a video like top secret...I have a feeling it might not leak after all...but...I hope so cause those 3,5 remaining weeks are killing meeeee  .

 

btw, My "myth" about leaks is just easy: Leaks wouldn't happen if they wouldn't want them to leak. The best proof of that is and will probably always be: REBELLION.

Her team simply doesn't want that song to leak, it's like the best kept secret like Coca Cola's recipe and as mysterious as Princess D's death.

 

leaks are a part of a strategy in my eyes, to in fact, increase the hype: Many people (like me) would rather hear the album in full before even considering buying an album. Let's face it €21 (cd prices here) for only 3 songs you know is petty much. 

But however, when it's leaked, people get to listen at it and might be convinced of buying it when it's released.

 

BUT that's what I think.
