I still stand by my theory about her "recreating" her albums from BOMT to Blackout but just "more adult"....

BOMT- Circus (the softer pop album)

Oops- FF (the grungier classic pop music, a 2.0 of the last more fierce & full of bops)

Self titled- Britney Jean (basically self-titled again) [Britney was her most personal out of the first 2...BJ attempted to recapture that but didn't nail it)

ITZ- Glory (The experimental, airy, trance-y vibe album w/ no direct theme but was still conceptually sonically)

Blackout- B10???

So B10 would clearly be a more grown, mature Blackout. It should reflect her star power of holding pop down for 20 years, anticipating it comes out in 2018. I think she should kind of trace the lines of Janet's Control album. The song itself FITS Britney so much. That drive as well and the intro talking. If only the conservatorship ended during the making of B10. it would make HEADLINES, and now she walk around like "Now I'M in control" it could even play a nod to Overprotected. Shes not that girl anymore. But yes id love songs like...

Janet's

Control

Trust a Try

Son of a Gun

If

All Nite (Dont stop)

Britney's

Get Naked

Perfect Lover

Break the Ice

Slave

Beyonce's

Love Drought

Ashanti's

Only U

Madonna's

Hung Up

Sorry

and more....Of course not exactly like these songs but would all be pretty decent references as far as the drive of the song, the dark undertones, serious tones etc

What yall think:snapney:

I think she should experiment with new stuff this time. Be innovative. Who knows, maybe she'd set a new trend?

But yeah, I'd really like her to experiment with new styles, maybe include heavier stuff (rock) in her album. See what happens.

Oh wow, :concerned: now there's alot of things I could say that I would like as a Britney fan. Glory was absolutely flawless, and unfortunately it seems like a rare moment when Britney releases such a gem. It's sad that this era was half ruined by more stupid team B bullshit. I'm most furious about the scrapping of the original Make Me video (isn't everyone). That video from the clips I've seen, would've been CLASSIC Britney. It was sexy, the choreography was on point, and so much more. It would've been one of her best videos. Small adjustments and edits could've been made to make Britney more comfortable and happier with the result, but classic team B's solution to a difficult situation is to scrap it all and start over. This also destroyed the original package artwork plan, which was allegedly to be done by David Lachepelle, and instead we got a hurried, Femme Fatale inspired cover by Randee St. Nicholas, using a SCREENSHOT as the front album cover. As for sales, I'm caring less and less about them these days, however, Britney Spears is Britney Spears. When we have Beyoncé (who's career is just as long and rewarding) releasing one of the most hyped albums of last year, it just makes me question alot of things with her team. Why isn't team B considering trying new publicity tactics and attempting to boost sales by keeping the album off of streaming platforms for a good 6 months? It seems Britney has let alot of good new people into her professional circle, which is how Glory was able to be made. Now she needs to throw out the rest of the rats who try to control her career or use the same old tired tricks over and over again. My perfect #B10 would be: an album with a fresh dance-pop sound, recorded by top producers, including long time collaborators like Max Martin and Bloodshy & Avant, and new producers too, who are fresh but not basic, boring, annoying and generic like the current situation of the top 40 (sorry not sorry if you like the top 40 right now lol) I want HITS next era. I want REAL promotion. And not just promotion - PUBLICITY. ALOT OF IT. OF ANY KIND. And Glory era level performances. Her BB awards performance was her best in YEARS imo. Oh, and maybe do a couple ballads you could sing LIVE to shut the haters up. I would love a Britney album recorded with her natural (and powerful, it's still there somewhere) contralto vocals. Could you imagine if she did a singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran type album with no vocal processing? She could do it. And her voice could sound even more amazing with proper training with her lower range. That's where the power in her voice hides.

I'm just ranting, nothing I want will probably ever happen, which disappoints me because I just don't think people see the potential she has, even her herself. God, have you heard the clips of her singing "Open Arms" from all those years ago? After her live performance of "Something to Talk About" earlier this year, you can still hear glimpses of that in her voice. Same with everything else, her managers, everything... If she were surrounded by only people who were letting her do her thing and have fun, then we wouldn't have any "original video scrapped" dillemas. Ugh. /Rant. Here's to hoping #B10 is indeed something to talk about. :yasqueen:

Could also be that Britney has no interest in doing anything more than what she is. I know we all like to blame the team a lot, but Britney's a grown-up and is most likely involved in a lot (if not all) of these decisions.

I agree that it seems like the pullback in her promo most likely has to do with Britney wanting to take it easy. She has had a LOOOONG career and most artists don't go for this long, especially with what she want through 10 years ago. People have to stop expecting so much out of her at this point. She clearly can get a hit, songs these days are mostly trash anyway so it's not that hard for someone in her position.  I truly do think that she doesn't want all that attention, she just wants to release her music and perform. She's not trying to win over critics or non-fans, nor is she trying to win all the Grammys, make any statements, or be a trend setter or anything like that. She doesn't want to break sales records, she doesn't want to be on all the magazine covers or be seen hanging with this one and that one at events and parties. She just wants to do her thing. Let her OR move on.

B10 will be good most likely. I hope she does some songs that are not all sex. It would be cool if she did more breakup songs and songs about the world but not in a preachy way. Something like Come Together by the Beatles just updated to fit her. I would like more 80s pop/synth sounds from her. And it would be good if she does some atmospheric sounding songs, similar to Alien. She is also in desperate need of a ballad and it would be interesting to hear an acapella or acoustic song too.

Exactly. I’ve long started to believe this is how she wants to be: make music, be with her boys, generally take it easier/slower. I don’t think we’re ever going to see a massive ITZ-style renaissance from her again. And that’s cool with me because, as you mentioned, we got amazing albums and a stellar career from her for years longer than most artists last!

I find that hard to believe. I don't think ANY person works in show business to "take it easy". Show business is extremely grueling and demanding. And Britney Spears has the toughest skin in the business. The thing with Britney though, it seems she's very okay with being told what to do. That was pretty much the entire Femme Fatale era. Glory was her first opportunity in a while to do what SHE wanted with the album, and the difference was real. Britney only "isn't interested", if she didn't have input and doesn't have the passion for the project. I think the reason we didn't get a lot promo with Glory is because of Vegas. I honestly wish she wrapped that up last year before dropping Glory. She could've done "The Private Show Starring Britney Spears". She should re-release Glory with new songs and remixes and tour, honestly. Glory deserves more attention. I have no doubt she would've worked her heart out with Glory if she didn't have Vegas to do.

And also to add on, it's LONG overdue now to end the conservatorship. Britney's kids are growing up now, and she's MORE than capable of managing herself. I think the fans who believe Britney doesn't have it in her anymore would be SHOOK with a no-conservatorship era. If Glory is Britney getting more control of the album, just IMAGINE her getting control of the entire era. Britney is 35 years old, she is FAR from over. Madonna is turning 60 next year and she's still running the game. I refuse to accept that Britney is semi-retired at 35.

lol you can refuse to believe it, but I feel like her actions speak to it. She seems to be enjoying her more low-key life. And I know Madonna's still going, good for her - but Britney isn't Madonna and maybe she doesn't want to be. For all we know if the conservatorship ended today, she might full-on retire and just raise her kids and be with her boyfriend.

Obviously all of this is speculation on both of our parts, but I swear I've read interviews or pieces on how she doesn't want to go full-on anymore. If I can find them (I'm at work currently, just taking a break), I'll add them in a bit later.

I know exactly what you're talking about. My point is, Britney only doesn't want to go all in when she's being told everything to do. The passion is STILL there. She called Glory her baby. She just needs to be allowed more control over her career. She wouldn't still be in the game 20 years later if she couldn't handle it. She could very well just take a break if she wanted to "take it easy", but I don't see her retiring. Not at 35. :frenchy:

I don't know why you 're assuming she's being told what to do 100% of the time and why you think she had no input with femme fatale. She may have been unhappy because she didn't want to promote, maybe she had another mental breakdown during that time. FF happened to be the last era where we got full promo so that could be saying a lot.  If the conservatorship ends that does not mean we'll be getting a more raw edgier version of her, it could mean she stops, it could mean she gets worse and can't continue. The Vegas show doesn't have much to do with lack of promo because they can and do shoot stuff during her breaks. It's either she doesn't want to, they don't want to invest the money in it because people are not checking for her now, they don't know how to best market her in this current climate, or a combo of all of this. No one is saying she can't handle it or doesn't have passion anymore, we're just saying she probably doesn't want to do the promo full force anymore.

I could easily say the same. Neither of us really know, however, it's kind of obvious Britney didn't have alot of input in Femme Fatale. I'm very familiar with mental illness, and it only gets worse if you aren't taking care of yourself. Britney has been in an almost 10 year remission. She's more than capable of taking care of herself. We have all seen the results with Britney when she has more control and isn't given a definite direction to take — her three best albums, In the Zone, Blackout and Glory. Glory has given us some of her best performances since the Circus era. Britney can and does make decisions. She's just very reserved and will listen to what others want and think she should do. If she had more freedom to make decisions, we'd probably have most of the original Make Me video. As I mentioned, show business is extremely grueling. A couple weeks is not long enough to have a promotion schedule for an album, then immediately go back to performing a show when the weeks are up. My belief is if Vegas ended in early 2016 or 2015, she would've devoted her time to a tour. She loves Glory, and that passion was enough in my belief for her to want to get out there and rally for it. There's a dramatic difference between 2016- Britney and let's say 2011-2015 Britney. She got more control over her album and wasn't told who to work with or anything like that. The result is clear. She was happier, more comfortable, and more excited about her work. Just like any person whose happy with their work would be. Anyone would have more passion in their work if they solely worked on it and they really believe in it. My point is, Britney is very stable in her life, and all signs point to that. 10 years is more than long enough to prove you can take care of yourself - and she has done that in strides. She's not this frail, anxious, woman that breaks with even the slightest bit of push back. She has the thickest skin in the business. She was the highest paid female musician in 2012, and still makes a more than great income with Vegas. We now see Britney doing good things with her money, with her building the childhood cancer facility. No one in Britney's position would hang it all up at 35. Just,... No. And I'm not this crazy fan demanding she work more, either. I can't demand anything from her. Would I like to see more promo? Of course! But that's up to her and her team. I'm just using common sense and basing my observations off of what we've seen in her the last few eras.
