Pedro V. Posted June 15, 2014 #1 Report Posted June 15, 2014 We don't have a 3rd single because... hellooo Britney left RCA in January remember? Perfume was her fuck!ng flop last single with RCA in December... so 2013 was her last year with the record label... 2008(December)-2009-2010-2011-2012-2013(December) = 5 years of contract 3 albums = Circus, Femme Fatale and Britney Jean 1 Singles Collection album 1 Remixes album It's done.
BritneyJeanSpears Posted June 15, 2014 #2 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Weren't Circus, Femme Fatale, the Singles Collection, B In the Mix 2 all released under Jive though?
daniel_essr Posted June 15, 2014 #4 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Mmm... How do you know she has a five year contract?? And if so, "Womanizer" was released a single in September 2008, so I don't think so... I think she has a contract to release X albums, and they didn't release more singles because "Work Bitch" underperformed and "Perfume" and the album flopped. That's all.
werkit89 Posted June 15, 2014 #5 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Weren't Circus, Femme Fatale, the Singles Collection, B In the Mix 2 all released under Jive though? Yeh but didn't jive basically go into rca therefore her contract remained the same ?? 1
Pedro V. Posted June 15, 2014 Author #6 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Weren't Circus, Femme Fatale, the Singles Collection, B In the Mix 2 all released under Jive though? Jive was a record label under RCA so it's the same label..
BritneyJeanSpears Posted June 15, 2014 #7 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Yeh but didn't jive basically go into rca therefore her contract remained the same ?? Perhaps if RCA bought out her contract.
werkit89 Posted June 15, 2014 #8 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Mmm... How do you know she has a five year contract?? And if so, "Womanizer" was released a single in September 2008, so I don't think so... I think she has a contract to release X albums, and they didn't release more singles because "Work Bitch" underperformed and "Perfume" and the album flopped. That's all. I think it's a lesson for her & her team to learn that no performances or decent promo = shit below average for britney sales 1
BritneyJeanSpears Posted June 15, 2014 #9 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Jive was a record label under RCA so it's the same label.. Oh ok. Didn't know that. I wonder why they closed that division then? Britney and JT were on their roster and they're huge pop stars.
BritneyJeanSpears Posted June 15, 2014 #10 Report Posted June 15, 2014 I think it's a lesson for her & her team to learn that no performances or decent promo = shit below average for britney sales Yessss! Her name alone can't sell singles anymore. She actually has to perform them get people interested in hearing the song and possibly buyin it.
tarotx Posted June 15, 2014 #11 Report Posted June 15, 2014 We don't know what happened with Britney's contract in the switch from Jive to RCA.
werkit89 Posted June 15, 2014 #12 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Yessss! Her name alone can't sell singles anymore. She actually has to perform them get people interested in hearing the song and possibly buyin it. how can she sell something nobody knows about??
BritneyJeanSpears Posted June 15, 2014 #13 Report Posted June 15, 2014 how can she sell something nobody knows about?? Exactly! That's a good and bad thing. Good because she finally doesn't have the media tracking down every move she makes, but bad cuz since they're no longer following her every step, she has to go out and promote her new projects.
David Posted June 15, 2014 #14 Report Posted June 15, 2014 wasn't she contracted for another album, not year? If so, just because it's 2014 doesn't really mean anything and she could still potentially release something, if they didn't see this era as officially over (which they obviously do).
heather Posted June 15, 2014 #15 Report Posted June 15, 2014 i love how everyone talks about her contract with no proof to back it up. it's like one person said her contract was X and everyone else just ran with it 1
Pedro V. Posted June 15, 2014 Author #16 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Mmm... How do you know she has a five year contract?? And if so, "Womanizer" was released a single in September 2008, so I don't think so... I think she has a contract to release X albums, and they didn't release more singles because "Work Bitch" underperformed and "Perfume" and the album flopped. That's all. 1998(Nov/Dec) - 2003 =1 contract 2003 - 2008 = 1 contract 2008 - 2013 = 1 contract she always did 5 year contract
S.S.S Posted June 15, 2014 #17 Report Posted June 15, 2014 It doesn't matter she can make it up with album 9
Thelegendarybritney Posted June 15, 2014 #18 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Weren't Circus, Femme Fatale, the Singles Collection, B In the Mix 2 all released under Jive though? i think B in the mix 2 was released under RCA but yeah Circus, Femme Fatale, the Singles Collection were released under Jive record
Thelegendarybritney Posted June 15, 2014 #19 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Jive was a record label under RCA so it's the same label.. so that means all Britney albums were released under RCA ? omg i didn't know this
Pedro V. Posted June 15, 2014 Author #20 Report Posted June 15, 2014 so that means all Britney albums were released under RCA ? omg i didn't know this Yeah
tarotx Posted June 15, 2014 #22 Report Posted June 15, 2014 I think the RCA/Jive thing happened in 2009 in relationship to Britney. But Jive Records and RCA Records always had there own Client list until Jive closed down. Jive and RCA Parted ways in the Early 90's and "hooked" back up in 2009. so that means all Britney albums were released under RCA ? omg i didn't know this
ThereCanBeOnyxOne Posted June 15, 2014 #23 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Weren't Circus, Femme Fatale, the Singles Collection, B In the Mix 2 all released under Jive though? yes... plus i cant read this topic anymore. month of month all the same threads like 100 times....
Rita F Posted June 15, 2014 #24 Report Posted June 15, 2014 That's a good point of view.. I hope she signs a contract as soon as possible or maybe she sign again with RCA.. A Diva like her can't be without a contract!! And I want more music.. and a new WWT so.. she better work and sign with someone.. 1
Everytime Posted June 15, 2014 #25 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Just another reason she may be retiring
