I love in the zone but agree with the Madonna part... I hate that song called showdown and the brave new girl is meh...

Shadow and Breathe on Me should've been singles :crying1:

My fave Brit album is, Britney. Her vocals in it are simply flawless, the musical direction in it is simply amazing , Britney and Blackout are the only two albums in which i like all of the songs except for one, they are both my faves but Britney wins, because this is the time I started being a stan :mhm: .

I'm a slave 4 you (first time Britney showed her sexy side, the song is so erotic and exotic , not to mention the slaying mv and the performance ;) )

Overprotected (The hymn of all the teens growing up, and the first time Britney started complaining about her overly obsessed team guarding her way too much)

Lonely ( Need I say? too fierce for this world)

I'm not a girl not yet a woman (Everyone loved it, I remember how much airtime it got on the MTV, VH1 and Viva channels, amazing MV, and an iconic song)

Boys ( Yes, our dearest bitch collaborated with Pharell before he was this huge and IN, hipsterney)

Anticipating ( Remember how I said there's one song I don't like on the album? This is the one :gloria: )

I love rock'n roll (Although she recieved a lot of hate from the rock die hard fans, I personally love the song, she made it pop, and it slayed! )

Cinderella (My fave from the album, the instrumental is simply slaying lives, the lyrics are so deep it legit makes a person cry, and the vocals are simply so good and trained, I am still hoping for her voice to be back like during the Britney era)

Let me be ( Deep vocallney :tbh: it's an empowering song)

Bombastic Love ( Remember how you were so confused what's the song at the beginning of Overprotected MV, and then finding it out and realizing it simply slays lives? Seriously, how could anyone not like this song? )

That's where you take me ( This song shows us Angelney in her most precious light, her soft voice, the soul she put in the song, the innocence of it, still makes me cry :crying1: )

What it's like to be me ( This was the high point for all of those justney lovers, this was the closest we got to their collaboration, and the only reminder up to this day, of the legendary pop couple , the only proof that they are not just a myth, the only proof to tell us, yes, legends do come together )

When I found you ( Don't you just love the instrumental of the song? Personally this is one song that brings me back to my childhood! "For every heartbreak there's hope for something new" , yes the queen did write the lyrics :mhm: )

I run away ( IMO, her most underrated song, yet one of the best ones. I personally love this song over everytime so much more, the lyrics are so meaningful, you can hear how vulnerable she was while singing this . The background vocals are actually following Britney's vocals and are letting her lead, which is more rare in the albums after Britney, If you don't get sad to the amazing sound of violins and Britney's crying voice, you have no heart )

Before the goodbye ( A perfect ending of the album, what other to say than that the song is simply flawless and catches up to the rest of the album? )

Britney album will always remain as the most personal Britney's album, Britney Jean can suck my cock tbh

Me Against The Music 8 It was so good at that time, it's iconic but it didn't age well as other songs. Britney vocals are sexy but totally drown out by Madonna and the backup singers.

I Got That Boom Boom 7 It's good but the production is a little "dry". Rap part is BAD, if there was a bridge instead of that this song would be way better!

Showdown 7.5 Lyrics are really racy, spoken vocals are convincing, production is good.

Breathe On Me 8 It's definitely her most iconic non-single song. If the beat was faster it would have been even better.

Early Morning 7.5  This song is underrated. The bass line is amazing and alluring, Brit is sexy as hell in the verses but does not sing the chorus (omg Britney Jean is that chu travelling back in time omg :zoomzoom: ) and I really don't know why!

Toxic 9.5 Nothing to add. Iconic, perfect produced, Britney didn't sing the bridge (omg Britney Jean so is that really chu from the futureomg :zoomzoom: ) but nobody cares.

Outrageous 6 Sexy but too repetitive. Britney herself never really loved this track. It's not bad, it's decent, but it sounds too "forced".

Touch Of My Hand 8 One of the sexiest and most controversial song written by Britney herself. It's sweet and dreamy but at the same time is almost obscene. It's one of the fan-favourite from this record!

The Hook Up 8 Lyrics are quite... meh, but this is one of the catchiest song from this record! Should have definitely been a single!

Shadow 6.5 And so, here we are. I like Shadow, i used to listen to it 100x times every day back in 2003. But... she is NOT convincing. Her performance sounds forced and is lacking, it's almost like this song does not suit her. Melody is lovely and lyrics are good, and I know it's a fan favourite. I still listen to it sometimes, but it could have been WAY, WAY, WAY BETTER.

Brave New Girl 2 I don't know why this song is there and not on Britney Jean, it would have been perfect between Ear Ache and Singing With Myah

Everytime 7.5 Ok, I LOVE Everytime. I love the melody, i love the lyrics, i think it's ICONIC and absolutely adorable. When I first heard it live on Saturady Night Live i was ECSTATIC and I expected BIG THINGS from the cd version... but that was not the case. Everytime is the perfect example of a great song (partially) ruined by a lacking production (especially the vocal one). This cd version is a BIG miss.

Me Against The Music Desi  blah blah GURL NO :omg1:

Don't Hang Up 6.5 Cute song, it sounds sweet even if it basically talks about phone sex :thatsfunny:

The Answer 7 I like it and it should have replaced Brave New Flop, even it reminds me much of Slave 4 U in the verses

IN THE ZONE: 7.5 / 10
ITZ  is full of great songs with not-always-so-great production, which often sounds TOO empty. Not to mention Britney voice was definitely not at her peak. It's still a very good record with iconic tracks, and it deserves its place as a fan favourite thanks to the A M A Z I N G era linked to it. ;)

Try Jacques Lu Cont's remix of Breathe on Me. It's a little faster and with some added bass.

Matm(underwhelming for a Madonna and Britney song and is easily her worst lead single imo)5/10

Rated a bit low but I do kinda agree with this tbh..  :mhm:  Should have been more epic for a Madge/Brit collab.. But the VIDEO SLAYS HARDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!  :britney-awyeah:

Thoughts on bng?

I think it just sound kinda less mature than the other songs on ITZ, kinda like something that would have been on Britney or OIDIA..so I just have this soft spot for it because I feel like it's the 1 track on ITZ that is a throw back to her earlier work. It's a classic example of cheesy, goofy, unapologetic, teen pop fun to me so it kinda full fill's that guilty pleasure part of me.  ;)  :thatsfunny:
