It really needs to go up in views, and not just plateau after all this rallying on getting it to one hundred million. I watch this all the time anyway! Fans knock it left and right when really that song is a big fuckin deal and the video was absolutely spectacular. It was in a time not long ago when Katy Perry and Lady Gaga were taken seriously, and being braggadocios about your artistry was so in. Britney slammed down a very funky (lol) and metaphorical video down on a single that wasn't personal but so far in it's time. It was really something spectacular. Hating on Britney for anything related to editing is bogus. The director was quite esteemed and should have been able to navigate through anything and everything.

Those shadows are her too. Just thought I'd answer people wanting to get delusional on that stuff :)

I also should say it's the most effort she put into an entire choreographed routine of the era outside of bring the slave 4 u choreo back for the fft. Clearly the way it was promoted everyone was sure this would smash. And don't forget it did

You know.. I don't think people hate HIAM. I know I don't.  I think people had a problem with it's hype. The video was sooo hyped up. I mean, I LOVED the teasers! But when I watched the video, I was a bit underwhelmed and disappointed because I remember britney's people talked a lot about her dancing very hard... and then she didn't. Most of her dance scenes were cut out. I never liked the song.. but seeing the teasers made me love it.. Everything about the video looked spectacular (except for the breakdown.. sorry.. I tried getting into it but I just couldnt.) and the lack of dancing. :(

I will never get the disdain toward this video. Yes, the shots were very quick and choppy. Yes, we didn't see Danceney really shine through in the final cut (I would have loved for them to release a dance version of the video a la Till The World Ends). Yes, I can see how one could find it to be "weird" as many people have said. But the concept of the video and the sheer amount of symbolism shown throughout are amazing. It is Britney's life. It is the rise, the struggle, the fall, and the rise once again of this beautiful and strong woman. They specifically wanted to make the video this way and not a literal translation of the song lyrically. I think fans want so many details in every video and, if these prayers aren't met, they refuse to look at the bigger picture. Look, if it's not your taste, it's not your taste. But, in my opinion, it's a great video for a great song.

I think the video itself is fantastic, the symbolism, the photograph, the color, etc. The dance was a little meh, but I had already accepted "Femmefatalney". What really bothered me and still does, is her face. That was the first video without the "Britney face". I always blamed it on her make up, but we can't deny she looks different, in a bad way. And it was the same for TTWE, but at least in that video we knew she was uncomfortable and that explains her face, but it was still weird. In IWG, she looked more comfortable, but her face was still a little bit strange. It wasn't until Criminal that I finally could say that "the old Britney" was back.

I think the hype was a little too much, but at the end, I think it was decent. 2011 was a really great year in music, at least in pop music, and Femme Fatale singles did very good against other artist's songs. I always thought HIAM was going to be certified before anyone else, but it just got stucked when it passed the 90M mark.  I also thought it was going to be nominated at the VMA's, because the video had so much more meaning than TTWE, and I think both videos had the same level of choreo, anyway... I don't think people hates it, it just, I don't know, I don't even understand why are you saying this hahaha :aintevenmad:

I think no one hates the video, it's just that it's not that great imo. I mean I don't like the first verse and chorus at all, I freakin' love the second verse till the fight scene and the ending is really cool too. I appreciate that she tried something different and edgy, but I can't say that I love it (I love the fight scene though <3)

I LOVE the HAIM video and song and I don't get why anyone would hate on it! :crying1:

Sure there could have been more danceney, but the dancing that was in there was fierce! Also I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Brit vs Brit bit where she's fighting herself! #COOLBEANS   :muahaha:  :Godney:

I've always hated this video, since it came out. I remember i was shocked watching an uninterested, boring and stiff britney moving herself in a 4 minutes mess. Dance breaks were atrocious, she was atrocious and was not even present in the best scene (the paint one). It's spectacular, of course, but where's Britney in that video? It's the worst one for me (before the poorfume one :jackk: )

It's personal taste, but I really CAN'T SEE Britney in Hold It Against Me. Ttwe was kinda basic, but at least you could recognize her

I don't hate it but it's def tainted b/c it was the first of many lies created by her team...old Britney didn't create her own hype she just brought the hype to everything she did and ppl were expecting her to bring since her team was saying she was gonna be dancing her ass off then we watched to see some basic ass spins and stiff dancing with dumb moves...I was over it and the video was damaging imo :aww1:

ever heard of people having different opinions? just because someone doesn't like something that you like, doesn't mean they're following some trend. grow up. i fucking hate the video since the first time i saw it and i don't need to explain why, and i'm not following a trend.

I don't think Britney fans hate the video and song, but outsiders seem to dislike it and it's probably because they think it's illuminati just by everything in the video and it freaks people out and stuff. :mhm: But I like it!!! :)

I remember being in high school when this came out and the hype on mtv and the promo made it all worth it to run to the computer and check for teaser videos and then boooommm slayed my life forever! I love the choreography to this song!

I can't find a single wrong thing about it being hyped up "so much" :xf14:

The way I see it, the video has been tainted by so many factors that people lost sight of what it really means.

"Satanist directing new Britney Spears music video" "Illuminati symbolism" "Body double" "Britney freaks out while shooting a scene" "Body double is a dude" and so on... :4music:

This single video is wayyyyyyy more personal than BJ will ever be! :bigtime: This video can't be compared to anything else! TTWE was compared to IAS4U, IWG was compared to an Avril Lavigne video and Criminal was rejected cuz it promoted violence or so was told by UK people :4music:

The real problem, which is so fucking hilarious and ridiculous that I can't even deal with it, is that people expected Britney to go all out with the choreo.

First of all, what the fuck was Brian thinking? Not even ITZney danced like an epilectic worm! :icantt: What the hell is that? Have you seen the rehearsal footage (Brian's)? He looks like he could break an arm or his neck in any second  :w8wut: That's not Britney, at all. TTWE was more like it :mahhaw:

Second of all, Britney feels different about her body now. She even said it herself: "I think I raised the bar to high for myself".

Holding Britney to an old image of herself is not healthy, not for us nor for her.

Back on the subject :giggle: I love HIAM, it's the editing I can't cope with, but I do my best and even play the video while I'm doing something else. :mhm:

I'm a good fan  :ohyeah:

It was mehhh.... White dress scenes were nice......dance scenes were atrocious (it was Britney's fault bcz she wasn't ready, opening scene was simply awfull(atrocious) Brit was stiff outt of shape, editing of her body and scenes was awful....fight scene was amazin, best part of mv was paint scene and scene where she falls down and has breakdown on the flop before last chorus ( too bad it wasn't her at all in best scenes of mv bcz she didn't wanna have paint in her hair),last chorus was disasterous......

Overal great idea, great simbolism of her life/career,but bad final product, from director and from Brit itself.......

Plus the hype killed the video and the song on its start

I don't hate it though,I hate tho let get this and that video certificated, like its not that big deal just watch whatever you like
