doesn't attempt to do anything to make up for her not-so-strong voice? To the best of my knowledge, akin to Britney, Janet doesn't possess a powerhouse voice; however, her long-time producers, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, apparently recommended her to apply certain techniques to strengthen it. What is more, Janet music notably matches her voice very well; consequetly, Janet is rarely judged about her vocal ability (while her dancing ones are undeniably skillful)

So, do you think that there will be probable solutions for Britney's voice? It is possible to reckon that she doesn't care much about this aspect of her artist career? :boring:

What really bothers me is that people think she can't sing and that the only reason she became famous was because of her dance moves and her pretty face. :icant:

Britney CAN sing, the first 3 albums were really vocally strong! BOMT and OIDIA (albums) were all about her voice rather than how danceable a song could be. Britney (album) started to be more oriented to the dance thing instead of her voice, but it still has good vocal production.

From ITZ onwards I can tell the vocal production has been kind of.. um.. underrated or given less importance than it deserves.

ITZ was her sexy album, it was dance dance dance everywhere you looked at it; in fact, that's what TOHT was all about. Most of the tracks display her moans and breathy voice more than her actual vocal ability. :tbh: I'm not complaining tho :nowaygif:

Blackout was her sex sex sex album, full of synths and sick beats! Critics, well, critisized the hell out of it because of the lack of vocal display.

Circus was her comeback album, played it kinda safe but pretty solid and amazing tracks, although her voice didn't really showed or stood out except for OFU and My Baby.

Femme Fatale was a glorious party album, critisized as fuck due to the lack of vocal display and overuse of synths and autotune. (Dr. Luke's signature :overthis: )

Britney Jean.. well... :orly:

Sorry, I had to let that out. :giggle: My point is, Britney has the voice and has the ability, it's just the producers she's worked with are more "hit" oriented regardless of how her voice is displayed. :4music:

We know her voice has been deteriorated and one thing is guilty for this: cigarettes. :smokeney: She has to leave them and get a vocal coach  :mahhaw: I think that if she wants to improve this aspect of hers, she can do it and we are here to support her :) That's my personal, sincere view of it

no, this won't change. you already know the answer to this. i don't think it's the cigarettes. i think britney just forgot how to sing like before. your vocal muscles need exercise, you know. i think she can retrain herself to find her deep singing voice again and go back to her origins, none of this autotune. but it won't happen.

I agree with you. She should record an EP with 3-4 covers before the album release to show to the world that she's still talented.

i love britneys voice i think she has a great voice and i prefer it over christinas voice anyday. i think she needs to cut some dancing and do some singing it is the barrier that is stopping her from realising her full potential in my opinion.

as others have mentioned it's all about the producers she works with. they play with and manipulate her voice to fit into whatever song they're trying to produce. and britney does as well when she uses the "sweet, sexy baby voice" vs her natural deep "baby one more time" voice. britney still has a strong, unique voice. and one that, while she does damage with cigarettes, she also DOES protect with vocal lessons

Sometimes i think her voice is damaged, because there must be a reason for all this lipsync and Myah disaster, i know she always used lipsync but never as much as now, and maybe thats the reason why she doesn't even pre-record her 16 year old baby one more time vocals, because she can't hit the high notes anymore. We haven't heard her voice in a few years except for a few Femme Fatale Tour dates.

Anyways, i don't think is something that can't be fixed. I read somewhere that Usher lost his voice when he went through puberty and worked hard to get it back. The matter here is if she/her team are interested in improving her performance and her voice, because it doesn't seem like it.

But i can keep dreaming that a Britney Spears MTV Unplugged will come some day and will shut the haters up :crying4:

yeah I think that her voice is damaged cause the baby one more time pre-recorded vocals for femme fatale are a mess...her voice cracks a lot and the high and long notes are replaced by the originals, we can hear the difference very well....and in britney jean we can hear her voice crack a lot!!! and she sounds so nasal nowadays, she always made that baby voice her signature but it was never this nasal....so I think it's a mix of damaged voice and lack of technique....but I think if she really wants she can work with what she has now and improve significantly

Or make an MTV Unplugged...

:awkward:

I'm reaching damn far, I know.

OMG you have no idea how much i wish this to happen  :crying1:

and answering the OP i still don't understand why she hire a vocal coach if she is not singing live :zoomzoom:  and i know Britney doesn't have to give explanation to anybody but i think she would be more respected if she admit the lip sync and say what is happening to her voice (if something is happening) instead of Larry saying "she sings live"  :frenchy:  well yeah Larry i believe that but please TURN HER MIC ON/UP!!!!!

Britney's voice is beautiful and fits more in r&b than in pop music :mhm:

The thing is, that the songs the producers choose for her are really high tone /pitch, which is not the natural range of Britney's voice, that's why Britney struggles with recreate the sound live
