Calling B Army: Your Ideas To Help Britney's Album 9 Sell 500K+ Copies First Week

Recommended Posts

Every idea is welcomed, especially innovative marketing plans.  I know B fans are very talented!

Some questions to discuss:

1.  "Album only" to increase sales in first week? You can't purchase individual singles off this album in the opening week.

2. Video for lead single to be suddenly released one day before the lead single is out on iTunes and impact radio (to drive the online community & media).

With 50M radio AI + 50M Youtube views + 500K sales, is it enough to debut #1 BB Hot 100? (three #1 debut singles)

3. Lead single to be released only 4 weeks prior to the album release date?

Work the late-night talk show circuit, have a forward-thinking lead single with a good dance/oriented music video that has the potential to have at least one thing meme'd so it spreads virally released a few weeks before the album drops, and work for critical acclaim this time around -- that's the stage of your career that you're in! Work with cutting edge producers and seize upon trends bubbling up from the indiesphere!

Anywho, just my thoughts :inneresting:

Are you Britney? :zoomzoom:

:gloria: jk

What is the point in giving our ideas when Brit's team doesn't listen to us when it comes to albums or promotion. Idk. I get your thread but since they avoid us this is pointless. :(

I agree that her team & her label is not really good at promoting & designing covers...but Britney is too nice to criticize them ya know...May Brit read your ideas here and discuss it with her managers, her team later....

Great! I totally agree with the critical acclaim...and gotta need some trend setting tunes that make everybody play your songs nonstop...Can you please provide the late-night talk show circuit in details? I heard Taylor's doing more than 30 promotion slots this week!

and according to industry projections, she's reaping the benefits of doing so! There's a significant demographic that watches late-night comedy shows, and it's an easy way to reach a lot of people and to create a digital splash! I mean, doing the Gangnam style dance is halfway to being Vevo certified :moorangu: it's easy to create memorable moments when you're in the comfortable company of funny people; even my parents told me about how they saw Britney on Jimmy Fallon a month or so ago! I bet it's grueling, but you want big sales and acclaim? You betta :betterwb:

Much thanks for your advice & input! It would be perfect if you could give me an ideal detailed promotion scheme for Brit to do in 7 days in the opening week . They have to book a month in advance.

It will also cost a lot her team gotta negotiate with the label...they told me Taylor's label is spending $10M for such massive promotion campaign, especially the front page iTunes banners and videos... so the album will not be profitable if it doesn't sell more than 3M copies in the States in the long run (Born This Way similar case)...

Plus the production cost for an A artist's album is 10M already, but it can be covered by oversea sales...

Posted

They need to release 2 singles before the album

1st - 3 months

2nd  - 3 months

6 months - still working on the album

after that album debut :P

So more chances of 2 singles debuting at #1 and more chances of getting more singles from the album

Ah a fan can only dream...  :crying1:

I'm sorry but how is this gonna help Britney sell more? I mean, if her team won't take a note from it, then it will only cause meltdowns in this fan base again. You're only gonna get your hopes up, nothing else. The thread is weird. Am I too stupid to get it or :zoomzoom: ?

I'm weird so are my threads....Someday you will understand (^___^')

Make sure the album doesn't leak ahead of time again.

Do some talk shows and interviews two or three weeks before the album releases to hype it a bit, but not over the top.

Release an innovative single and something totally new and different and release the music video maybe the day of or before the album release.

Promote it everywhere, but especially all over Vegas so anyone who's visiting that week gets motivated to buy the album of their destination performer.

The first single also should be something really catchy and easy to get stuck in your head

i want #1 single before the album (total album sales target 1M is okay) but it's really difficult to get a #1 single nowadays since BB has changed their fomular...more streaming point and less sales point in the equation...so priority for # singles (especially video release timing) next era... Britney has many front loaded albums already...now we need longevity, especially for singles to chart high on radio & iTunes, BB Hot 100 ==> relevancy. Beyonce has big album success this era but she hasn't got a top 10 solo hit since 2009 since they all flopped on radio & iTunes you know....

In my honest opinion, Britney and her team just need to do better promotional work that includes solid performance and more if they want to sell really well. The lead off single needs to be a smash.

I think an special on SNL would be really nice or something like she did on the ABC with ITZ would be amazing, but a big announcement on the VMA'S with a performance would put her on the top of the charts, VMA's are not the same without Britney and everybody knows it, Bey did it well to be honest, but when you know that Britney is going to be there, everybody, included the haters, are waiting for what is she going to do

ERM maybe Britney could start with giving us a good album this time featuring her own voice...that would be a good start.

don't know why people pressed the red button when I think if you are a Britney fan you would like to listen to her and not that girl...

Release it December 9th, 2014. It's even CLOSER to Xmas than the first week of December is, but at the same time not a last-minute release RIGHT BEFORE Christmas (December 16th is too late). And I'm sure TeamBritney is kicking themselves for this: Hide Vegas tickets in random CD copies!

V Magazine cover August 25th, say the new single is coming sooner than we think. On Monday September 1st, tweet "Don't sleep tonight, trust me... #AdviceFromBritney", and then, for the first time in A-List Artist iTunes history, release the single at a timeslot other than Midnight. Therefore it's kind of a surprise release because we would anticipate it to come out at Midnight. That alone will help sales.

It’s a good idea, but imagine if she does something like a song not included in the album to promote her new album, not like a single, just like a little taste of what you can expect from the album, also a good/mysterious video can help to make people want more and know more about what’s going on, like Gimme More mixed with HIAM, I mean something sexy and dark, because is like a secret, with the HIAM facts, like things you realize that are there when you watch it many times, like clues, something to speculate about

Yes :tea:

Britney's team does not know her demographic (and they always say they do). She usually does Good Morning America but who watches that? 35-40 year old soccer moms. She needs to be in Jimmy Fallon, perform LIVE at SNL, a lot of social media promo, appear in the cover of magazines. (Did you see how manu covers Taylor is doing this month, like 6 including the biggest of them all: Vogue).

But hopefully she is focusing on doing a great album that everybody would want to buy

I think the album is gonna come out in 2016 tbh. She said they're working really slowly.

But back to the point, I think she should go to some interviews as David Letterma, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Regis & Michael..

I think she should perform at least twice, and at least attend 2 or 3 award shows.

I think that and a solid first single and music video would help sales :)

Five people has voted your post down because you tell the fucking truth? Really? Like they keep refusing to admit they have been fucked with BJ  :awkwarddd:   they probably keep believing that's her voice on it :trollney:  I'm ashamed for them :ohno:
