Calling B Army: Your Ideas To Help Britney's Album 9 Sell 500K+ Copies First Week

Recommended Posts

...2 weeks ago they told me the current preorder sales for 1989 was 163K. They said that BB formula had changed so Preorder sales would be good for first week album sales but it would negatively affect the lead single sales. Shake It Off case: the single sold more than 500K but those actually included album preorder sales ~ 135K at that time. The label & artist have to decide they want more potential sales for the lead single or the album. The lead single is supposed to promote the album...

I'm studying SIO case to figure out some methods to overcome this issue... lead single release timing is very important now. I still want #1 for lead single first, so the option for lead single should be available for single purchase only, no instant album preorder in the opening week of the lead single.

The other difficulty is streaming which mostly consists of Spotify stream & Youtube views...Spotify streaming is important but i think massive Youtube views can cover it, priority for sales to make headlines...If you put your song on Spotify early it wouldn't sell well on iTunes... We need to do something innovative with the video release, especially timing to get 30M US views (~ 70M total views) in the opening week to cover the lack of spotify streaming in that week...it's really complicated!

Five people has voted your post down because you tell the fucking truth? Really? Like they keep refusing to admit they have been fucked with BJ  :awkwarddd:   they probably keep believing that's her voice on it :trollney:  I'm ashamed for them :ohno:

You seem bothered.

500 000? Let's face it, if Britney wanted to make a good album, and actually work on it, she could break her own oidia record in a heartbeat :tbh: however no matter how good the album is it wont be a success without devotion and promotion, she really has to step it up and work it out, its simply the way it is. If she gives us a good album+workhardney, she can break 1 million sales with no effort

Work the late-night talk show circuit, have a forward-thinking lead single with a good dance/oriented music video that has the potential to have at least one thing meme'd so it spreads virally released a few weeks before the album drops, and work for critical acclaim this time around -- that's the stage of your career that you're in! Work with cutting edge producers and seize upon trends bubbling up from the indiesphere!

Anywho, just my thoughts :inneresting:

MTE :mhm:

PROMO, A LOT OF PROMO PLEASE :gloria:

1. Radio Friendly 1st Single with a video that focuses on showcasing the DANCING!! FEED THE PEOPLE! The General Public and BArmy have been waiting for a Dance heavy video! A dance heavy video a la "Slave", "Oops", "Overprotected" ...etc would easily rack up over 100M views on vevo in less than a week.

2. Album doesn't leak way ahead of time.

3. PROMO, PROMO, PROMO. Britney HAS to do a lot of PROMO, not just talk show appearances but also live performances. Get her back on SNL!

That's my 2 cents.  ;)

I would die from joy if she returned to SNL :crying2: imagine a summer release for B9 and she's the finale's host and musical guest :crying5: I just hope she can jive with the cast and feel comfortable and at home, because SNL audiences seize violently upon stiff or nervous guests :crying1:

She needs to make people understand her more, that doesn't mean spill her guys, she can have ambiguous lyrics, songs about anxieties, just little things that allude to her personal life, people are so interested in her.

Britney is one of the top bitches now, so go to Oprah and be open, instead of dwelling on the actual breakdown, talk about how happy you are and how much better you feel with small references to make people buy the album, people are nosey.

PERFORM SINGING LIVE PROVING SHE CAN SING at least three times, that way she doesn't have to dance much and people will get what they want from her. That alone will cause a HUGE amount of publicity.

Social media, she should do a viral video, something funn like her being super goofy or sweet like teaching her kids the oops dance routine as a little joke.

Lead single judging society, with a controversial video

Oh and look flawless, Britney not looking flawless is going to make people think she is still a mess sadly and she is getting older and that really does add pressure.

Call me weird, but I love these threads.

Even though they do sort of depress me because I know Britney will never do even 1/10 of this kind of promotion.

I wish she would, though. If she doesn't want it 100% then she needs to quit. There are plenty of ways for her to make a huge impact without running herself into the ground like she did in 2002-2003. She gets large chunks of time off from the residency to put some real effort into promoting. I wish the #4 debut of BJ and the reaction it got from critics and fans will make Britney and her team realize they can't use her legacy alone to sell albums, but I doubt it will.

I like this threads too :) because maybe a miracle happens and her team could read what the fans really want

She should start by showing passion for the album promoting it like she wants everyone to hear it because she's proud of it.
She said on V Magazine that B9 it's like "her baby", she better prove it then. (I'm done if the "this album is like my baby" is the new "This is my most personal album")
She didn't show too much(mostly none) interest on her last albums, IMHO.

I just hope the album is great and we can feel she truly worked hard on it and is what she really wanted to do.

I suck at understanding charts and how to boost sales so looking forward to hearing more of y'all ideas tbh

same LOL

I just wish Britney would tell her team once and for all, that they need to promote this new album better! Also, she could have a concert here in Europe (I know her team focuses on selling albums in the USA, but Brit has still so many fans in Europe that are dying to go see her live!!) I mean, seriously she can't stay in Vegas all the time. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to go to Vegas to see her, because it's so expensive (we'll see) and this album needs great producers - if the sound of this album is going to be good, it will sell, otherwise, no promotion could help.

I trust Britney, but I don't trust her team tbh

Make sure the album doesn't leak ahead of time again.

Do some talk shows and interviews two or three weeks before the album releases to hype it a bit, but not over the top.

Release an innovative single and something totally new and different and release the music video maybe the day of or before the album release.

Promote it everywhere, but especially all over Vegas so anyone who's visiting that week gets motivated to buy the album of their destination performer.

The first single also should be something really catchy and easy to get stuck in your head

  :yas:

OH AND ANOTHER THING!!!

A couple of days ago while I was shopping in one of our grocery shops, I heard "Brightest Morning Star" playing on the radio and I was SO EXITED AND HAPPY! Mostly, because I live in fucking Slovenia (small European country) and our radio stations almost NEVER play Britney's songs (which is so fucking lame, I hate our radio stations by the way), so that gave me hope for the future. LOL
What am I trying to say here is that, if radio stations would play more of Britney's songs even outside USA, Britney would get even more (new) fans, because our stations played her songs when she was on top of the game, but lately not so much. People here don't even know her new music, which is really sad...

We need more european radio stations to play Britney songs! Do you guys have any ideas how could European fans help in that department?
