Taylor Swift Retweets About Breaking The Britney's Record

For her to retweet this comes off as the opposite of humble. If you are going to break records, do so without bringing attention to the fact you are going to. Let other people speak on your accomplishments. Like Britney, the queen of being gracious and humble.

Wait a minute, she's seriously selling it for .99 cents? I thought that was not allowed? Or at least that those sales were not counted?

it won't be counted from what i heard.but it's still a great promoting way to let everybody know she's releasing her new album.

she is really aiming to break Britney's record this time, she hasn't released 1989 on spotify yet because it will affect the actual sales.

so if it's not counted then does she still break her record?

I love Taylor Swift but her new album is trash. I hate it. Everyone is so into basic music right now and I guess Taylor chimed in with a basic album right on time to make that dough. We need Britney to save Pop music again :crying3:

the final sales number will come in at Wednesday, we'll see.and, unfortunately, yes, it is still possible for her to break this record, even without the 99cent sales.

Who cares if she breaks it? It's just a record that Britney held for years. Britney has solidified her Legacy. If anything this is helping Britney. Her name is mentioned in every article showing the world that she is still a force in the music industry for having a record so long. It's also free Promo.

Taylor is still trying to solidify her career. This could be a huge step for her. She really does have a talent. Lyrically she is amazing. If you listen to the words of her songs which SHE writes herself, they are really good. I was always iffy on her stuff, but one thing that i always did admire is that she wrote catchy, real life emotional songs. The girl is talented there.

So maybe we should be happy for someone once. Let's be the first fan Base that doesn't bash other's success for once. I swear reading some of this stuff some of you are saying like "cunt, basic" etc. That just makes us as a fan base seem like LITTLE MONSTERS! That's not cute at all.

Break the Record or not...There will be only ONE Britney Spears, and that is all that matters.

That won't happen though, she is a basic of her time pop artist that will be forgotten in history, she doesn't deserve it because yes, she is basic, people may have said Britney was at the time but Brit had already had the second iconic song by the time that album came out. I am pressed because it's her breaking it, even gaga deserved it more and I hate that scumbag more than Taylor who I just have a slight dislike for.

I'm not a taylor Stan by any means. Just like some her music, because again the words are real life emotions I've felt. However She kinda has already started to solidify her career. 3 straight albums selling over 1 million albums the first week. That says something. I think she also holds the record for quickest sell out of Madison Square Garden or she did at one point. Not sure. Her draw as an everyday kind of girl that writes songs people can relate to works for her. And she is now successful in 2 genres. Pop and country. Not many could do that.

Max Martin is a pop genius too. She was smart picking him to produce this album. Smart decisions make success

And no. Gaga will never deserve nor will she ever break the record. She rights songs about pretty much loving attention. Aka applause. Taylor at least doesn't use gimmicks. It's all her out there promoting like a mofo and using her talent. People like that about her. Sorry you don't agree. She draws young and old with her music as well.

She will have a long successful career.

Taylor uses gimmicks to the point of it being cringeworthy, it's just done differently from gaga. Ok, she's selling a lot now, because she is cleverly appealling to the way people want their pop artists, it's an obvious thing to do but it's very of the moment, it's all marketing boo, the everyday girl who writes relatable songs covers so so many others in history. She is just a basic of her time popstar who is selling well at the moment, she broken the record but doesn't deserve it, she hasn't brought anything to the industry, if she was so authentic she would have brought something even if it's the slightest quirk.

Gag did deserve it more, no one knew that born this way was going to be that much of a mess, but at least she injected a bit of life into pop music. Taylor really is just so dull, her most iconic moment is Kuntye Pest interruping her on the VMAs. She'll be history soon, and not in a lasting way, she is just huge now.

What gimmicks has taylor used though? Only time I see her is when she singing one of her songs, Playing guitar, writing catchy music...she can't be basic/dull and use gimmicks at the same time. That makes no sense. Gimmicks are the only thing that gaga has ever used. And gaga didn't really put life in pop music. Pop music was still huge back then. She just used so many gimmicks that people were in shock. Now the gimmicks she used are played out and hence her album flopped this last time. Taylor has been around for 8 years now (2 years longer than gaga) and still selling well. So I'm pretty sure it's not just a now thing. Her fan base is huge and comes out in support everything she releases something. That's not going away just like Britney's fan base minus the trolls on exfake aren't going away. Honestly if she breaks the record britney will most likely congratulate her, because she supports and encourages people. As her fan base we should do the same. Just saying.
