Billbord Says Taylor Won't Break Oidia Record

She has a massive fan base. Her old country fans and her new fans. Her fanbase has garnered a lot of 'allies' from other fanbases from Selena fans to Beyonce fans etc.

She promotes her song/album like crazy.

On TV - the voice etc.

omgosh she's everywhere.

Wish Britney would still do this though but a fan can only dream...  :crying1:

If Britney promoted like Taylor promotes she could break her own OIDIA record honestly it wouldn't be difficult (as long as Will.I.Am stays away from the album)

Hmm, I'm not really sure about that. Not saying it's not possible but she will need to have a really big hit, and good reviews, and lots of promo etc.

Well of course if she had all of that and now with iTunes and stuff like that I think she could do it.

Honestly... Oops!... I Did It Again >>> 1989.  Taylor Swift's album is so underwhelming that all the hype for it seems comical now.  I watched her concert set on Good Morning America the other day and was left asking: This is what America is going crazy over?! She's a nice woman, fairly good voice, but all I saw was someone on stage trying instead of being and that too applies to this latest album.  But kudos to her and her team because her promotional push, wide fan base, and appeal has many buying the album despite the multiple deluxe edition leaks.

but hey let's not forget

Combined, "Oops!...I Did It Again" has sold over 10,394,000 copies in the U.S.[*] Worldwide, it sold 2.4 million copies in first week, 1.2 million in its second week, and 920,000 in its third week, making it one of the fastest selling albums in music history

Part of me doesn't care whether she breaks the record or not. I mean: I'm not going to have sleepless nights over it.

But of course, as a Britney fan, I want Britney to keep her record. And I certainly don't want some basic and boring girl to break it! I was surprised she sold that much with her last album and I'm surprised she now will do it AGAIN.

But in the end it doesn't matter. Taylor isn't close to the phenomenon that is Britney. Taylor will be forgotten. Wait... let me correct that: here in Europe she won't be forgotten... because nobody knows her to begin with.
