She didn't but it's a matter of time for britney to loose it.

Actually I don't think it's so easy for someone else to break the record...Sales are in general significantly lower in comparison to 2000 and most albums don't even sell 200k during the first week.

So, even if Taylor Swift didn't break the record, her first week sales are totally incredible.

On the other hand, if she had broken the record then again it wouldn't be totally fair because:

1. She sold the album for 0.99 dollars

2. Britney's whole week was actually 6 days...

how is it a "matter of time"? the only other person who might break it is adele since her sales were so good last time but thats it

Is that what Taylor was charging for the Album? 0.99 dollars? And she still couldn't break Britney's "Record" that is pitiful.

Yeah, just 0.99 but not in general, just through some sort of promotion...Everyone in here says that they counted the sales of those albums but I'm not entirely certain because there is a rule not to include such cheap albums...

What I mean is that soon or later someone can break it. Music industry has changed a lot because of the illegal downloads which was very different when britney got that record. In the future this may change and then the record may break.

Of course it's not easy, people don't buy music as they did in the past and to be honest that is probably the reason why Britney still owns the record. On the other hand I don't think it's unfair to sell a record that cheap. Most of the people download music illegally and the only way to get sales is with cheap music.

Let's focus this on another way. Britney jean sales were very low but los of people had work bitch. Sales don't show anything nowadays because fans buy albums but not the GP. GP uses Spotify or download specific songs illegally. Only a kettle group of people pay for downloads apart from fans.
