Dear Britney:

Minimalist electronic/R&B. Just do it baby, just do it. Go for fucking critical acclaim already, woman. You're gonna be 33 years old. Stop trying to run alongside Katy and Gaga and whoever's popular at the moment like 2005-onwards Madonna. Immerse yourself with producers who can listen and translate a vision you've created on your own. Separate yourself from Larry et al. as an artist to regain your independence in the music-making process. And actually look back at your life. Confront what makes you cry at night. You've gone through the most public breakdown and subsequent upswing in musical history and all you can muster when it comes to emotional depth is one song on your worst album that talks about being alone.

Catch a new exec. producer. I suggest Doc McKinney/Illangelo/Clams Casino/Dream Machine that put the earthshattering instrumentals behind Abel Tesfaye's godly voice from The Weeknd. Toss in some tracks by Arca (check out his work with Kanye, FKA Twigs (you two should collab) and soon-to-be Bjork. Sprinkle a Danja song and a Bloodshy song for the BArmy. Actually accept a Dev Hynes demo or two, and it's okay to not accept them at face value, too - Sky Ferreira's turned an average Dev Hynes demo into the delayed pleasure of "Everything is Embarrassing."

Just be innovative and be excited about your music. That'd be cool.

Love,

ValetGirls

I wanna go was some kind of bubblegumney and it slayed lifes, the video was her first one to get certified and she found the way to make it look like is not really inmature. anyway for my personal taste I want something more R&B or rockpop, but if she does what you say, she would caught the youngest ones attention

I do agree it'll be nice for her to do a song or two that goes back to her roots. Not really bubblegum pop, but there were a lot of R&B influences in Britney's early work. :yaknow:

Her adult work the most smashes when she goes electropop though. For it to smash, she needs to PROMOTE with a few good performances and her team needs to get their shit together and have better marketing.

This. Britney doesn't have anything to prove with sales. She needs ACCLAIM and RESPECT in the industry.
