Not so much. I do love the video and the imagery, and of course Britney looks wonderful, but with those damn 5 second/10 second/however long teasers of absolutely nothing and the articles that promised a buch of dancing and stuff, it was just...eh.

I loved HIAM back then and waiting for it was pretty exciting. I don't know why people felt dissapointed for the lack of dancing because that song is not that danceable to begin with.

But i think i was more excited for Womanizer because it was the comeback, and her site had this huge countdown for the video. Anyways her team needs to do this kind of promo again.

They did didn't they? I remember last year we had a big countdown for something...I forget what. It was either the WB video or the GMA appearance. But they made it all secretive about what the big surprise was and her entire website was taken down and there was only this big countdown on it.

Yes! "Hold It Against Me" hit like an atomic bomb in it's initial release on iTunes/radio and it was really thrilling.  I will never understand those that look at this song (along with Femme Fatale) and deem it "generic" because while lyrically the song is, sonically it set trends with pop-dubstep.  The song was simultaneously current, forward-thinking and Britney pulled it off.  I def want the same for album #9, an immediate 1st single that let's people know she ain't playing around.  "Work Bitch" had potential but like with HIAM she let it die with no promo once it was released so I hope that's rectified too.

As far as the video, I liked it but disliked all the promo/hype -- the countdowns, Brain talking to MTV News about her dancing, etc -- leading up to it.

Lol, did you forget the terrible meltdown ??? :drown: if it would have been for the video people actually would have been happy and the era wouldn't have been a fucking big mess since the beginning :orangu: It was for the GMA thing, the big surprise was the Vegas residency announcement which wasn't even big news anyway since we all knew about it already. Everyone was expecting something BIG, while absolutely nothing special happened. It was so not important that you don't even remember for what is was.

it was hyped up TOO much which left many fans underwhelmed by the overall result, but i still love hiam song and the video

The song slayed everyone but the video polarized from what I remember. I've never seen Exhell so slayed by a song before and it hasn't been replicated. :yaknow:

Did her team promote HIAM a lot, though?

From what I remember it was her fans hyping up the song on Twitter and the media writing articles about it before it was released. Britney's fan base was a lot stronger back then.

I loved it. I wish Brit's team will hype it up again for her next single after a disappointing BJ era (besides Work Bitch)

I will continue to just expect Britney and her team to pull embarrassing promo and disastrous marketing, and further push her music to the pits of irrelevance so I won't be disappointed. :orangu:

HIAM had heaps of promo - teaser videos - performances, posters - it was cool - but the video teasers dragged on for too long - Loved the ammount of promo for FF - and I hope we can have it again!
