Classic and fantastic alt news source VICE chronicled the adventures of one woman who dropped everything, got a fake ID, and scammed her way into the festivities of Britney Day.

Some people are defined by the sports team they love. Their team gives them an identity to wrap themselves around, something to root for through thick and thin, a nostalgic link to their past and a constant shot at excitement in the future. It's a way to build camaraderie with strangers, and an excuse to drink with old friends on the weekends. I'm from Los Angeles, but if I'm honest, my team isn't really the Lakers or the Dodgers. My team is one person, and her name is Britney Jean Spears.

It's worth the read. Enjoy a first-hand account of The Night of A Hundred Britneys on VICE

"My weave!" yelped a Britney. :lmaolol:

It was very interesting to read. A little bit sad, but that's the truth. That's how things are these days. And I loved this part:

I didn't know if Britney was just like us, or if we were just like Britney. We had been feeding off one another for so long, each wanting to be the other so badly since adolescence

so true :crying1:

I guess someday, all of us will understand :crying3:

I feel sorry for the fan base sometimes but we bring this stuff on our selves. Of course this day was about promoting sponsors. Of course Britney is really shy in real life. Britney gets embarrassed when people are excited to be with her. And LOL to all the Britneys who thought she would ride that giant Ferris wheel. That height for that long? Yeah I didn't think it was really going to happen...

Oh god the line about Britney trying to sleep her way to the bottom-it made me laugh though.

She's been Miss American Dream since she was 17, so she sates us with the smallest possible piece of her. This is why we love her unconditionally, why we root for her, why we defend her at all costs. This is also the ouroboros that keeps the Britney machine running: The more of a reluctant superstar she is, the more we love her, which makes her more reluctant, which makes us love her more.

I love the way Vice writers write, they're always so funny and acutely truth-telling, sidestepping their own biases to demonstrate some larger point. It's always fascinating and adds something, no matter how small or trivial, to the conversation at large. :)

I posted a comment in that article. My name is not Britney and all I had to do was ask her staff for a "Britney Day package" and I got access, tshirt and 2 tickets for the high roller.

The reporter did a great job getting that fake Id But it wasn't necessary
