News Posted November 14, 2014 #1 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Director James Gunn who directed Guardians of the Galaxy sat down on a recent Q and A. He talked about Britney during the Q and A. Take a look below Q: Can you talk about the musical selection and what your hand was in it? Was there any issue with any of the songs you wanted? Gunn: There was nothing I couldn’t get. The songs were 100 percent chosen by me and only me all throughout the movie. Most of the songs were written into the screenplay. And those that weren’t I chose later on. I never had any fight on the music. I think those guys actually originally thought of it as temp music, the songs that I put in there, and then in our early test screenings, people loved the music. So I was really happy with that, because I didn’t want to end up with, you know, the newest Britney Spears song on this. Although I like Britney Spears. I think I had a very specific type of song I was looking for -- a song that was, for the most part, a song that people might have heard the music but they probably didn’t know the name of the band, and they probably didn’t know the name of the song itself. But somewhat, some part of you remembered hearing it at Shakey’s Pizza, or wherever, in the background, and then all of a sudden this song, that’s been in the background of your life, is being pushed to the forefront. Lady Lisa Posted November 14, 2014 #2 Report Posted November 14, 2014 BRITNEY 4 GUARDIANS OF GALAXY 2 1
Babydoll Posted November 14, 2014 #3 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Britney should be part of the soundtrack of the sequel tbh At first I read "Tim Gunn" , and I was like OMG I love Tim Gunn, he is a fashion guru
britneystanstan Posted November 14, 2014 #4 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Wasn't this slight shade? Britney's people need to get her music out more on movie soundtracks though.
killthelights Posted November 14, 2014 #5 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Wasn't this slight shade? Britney's people need to get her music out more on movie soundtracks though. And not on the fricken Smurfs soundtrack 2
britneystanstan Posted November 14, 2014 #6 Report Posted November 14, 2014 And not on the fricken Smurfs soundtrack I remember how it was such a wasted opportunity to get Unusual You on the Twilight soundtrack. Lbr, Toxic would've suited 50 shades of Grey more than Crazy in Love 1
daniel10456 Posted November 14, 2014 #7 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Yay! I'm glad he wasn't shady because i LOVE Guardians of the Galaxy (well really I just love the entire Marvel Universe)
daniel10456 Posted November 14, 2014 #8 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Also Britney DEFINITELY needs to be on more soundtracks!! I live for I've Just Begun (Having My Fun) in Bridesmaids 3
ValetGirls Posted November 14, 2014 #9 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Wasn't this slight shade? Britney's people need to get her music out more on movie soundtracks though. No, if it was shade he wouldn't have backtracked and supported Brit, he would've bandwagoned. What he's saying is true: Guardian's soundtrack is all late 60s-70s music, which gives it a certain feel. Brit would've ruined the continuity (esp because the music in the movie plays a role)

Ari Posted November 14, 2014 #12 Report Posted November 14, 2014 I remember how it was such a wasted opportunity to get Unusual You on the Twilight soundtrack. Lbr, Toxic would've suited 50 shades of Grey more than Crazy in Love Omgosh yes! I watched fanmade videos using Unusual You for Twilight. I thought it was genius! IA. Toxic would have been better especially since it is mentioned in the book! Ah so many missed opportunities! Also Britney DEFINITELY needs to be on more soundtracks!! I live for I've Just Begun (Having My Fun) in Bridesmaids Omgosh same here! Love that they used it in one of the scenes! Need more Britney unreleased songs featured in movies tbh! #BreatheOnMe4FiftyShadesofGreySoundtrack Breathe On Me is so perfect! Definitely should have been used for the movie! 1
Brian.TheDog Posted November 14, 2014 #13 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Wasn't this slight shade? Britney's people need to get her music out more on movie soundtracks though. it's not cuz the music was based on the 60-80s, they wanted music that people could recognize but not too well, something to make you think about where you've heard it and maybe some memories attached to it
