"Beyond the Lights"

I went to the movies with my mom and brother for his birthday. She suggested we see this movie. I ended up being pleasantly surprised by this film. It was really good. And I believe they took some inspiration for our girl Miss Britney Spears.

So, in a nutshell, a girl--named Noni Jean (**hint hint**)--and her mother work from the girl's childhood to reach superstar status. However, once she is there in the spotlight, all is not as glamorous as it seems. On the night of winning her first major awards, Noni attempts to commit suicide after drinking herself into a self-hating stupor just after the award show. The police officer guarding her hotel room door saves her from falling and that begins their relationship.

Some things in the movie that reminded me of Britney's struggle with fame (these aren't exactly similar to Brit, but close enough): POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!

1. After the tumultuous night on which Noni Jean attempts suicide, her label pushes her right back out in front of the cameras. Instead of getting her help and out of the public eye, they urge her to continue on as the perfect pop star. They even ask her to gloss over her issues and basically lie.

2. Noni is shown in a photoshoot, and the photographer keeps asking her to take off more clothes. Her management (which is her mother) permits her to go topless for the pics (but with her hair covering her breasts, like just about every topless pic Britney has done).

3. She has many provocative magazine covers and wears revealing clothing when out and promoting. At home, she dresses normally.

4. She is in a relationship with a famous rapper, of which began as a publicity stunt. Eventually, he doesn't end up helping her when she needs it, but instead sells her out and trash talks her when they are on stage together. She is then humiliated (but her new potential police officer boyfriend comes to the rescue).

4. There is a scene in which she cuts out her extensions/weave to reveal her natural, short, curly hair.

5. She runs away to Mexico with the police officer guy (who is sexxay, btw) to get away from L.A.

6. Everywhere she goes, there are paparazzi following her.

7. Her music is provocative and written by others to suit her sexy image. She actually has a box full of songs she has written herself. Her label prevents her from contributing all but one song to the upcoming album.

8. Her middle name is Jean.... :oya:

So yeah, I really enjoyed this movie. The ending was a happy one, and it is one I expect for Britney as well. Seeing as she is with a great guy and she seems to be in control of album 9, I think that happy period is already here. :)

This movie is in theaters now. Go see it or wait to get the DVD or buy it on Netflix or something. :bomt: :eyeney:

It seems like a great movie, and yeah some things seem like it's from Britney's life (but it's probably not inspired by Britney, i mean, i'm sure any movies like this would be like that anyway, you know, it's not entertaining if there are not paparazzi everywhere, suicide attempt, oversexualization etc. everything must be dramatic). I think i'm gonna watch it.

I hope there are not too many silly love moments tho, i just watched the official trailer and seems like the main story is the love story with the policeman, and the superstar thing is more like a background story.

I'd LOVE a movie about Britney! And in which she is involved directly. It would be amazing. :D

I don't think she should star on it though. I mean having to redo her breakdown would be kinda hard on her in my opinion, and  if it were to come out like in 10 years having 40 year old brintey play 2o year old britney would be weird :umomg: I would <3 for britney to direct it or even write the script :tbh:

Nope. The love story is well done and very much ties into her being a pop star. He serves as her hero in the midst of Hollywood, but really the movie is all about her. Of course the movie probably isn't directly inspired by Brit, but instead the experiences she and many other famous artists have gone though.

You should give it a try. :)
