We've seen several installments now of Jimmy Kimmel's Celebrities Read Mean Tweets, and we laugh our butts off every time.

But have you ever stopped to think about how the segment affects the Mean Tweeters?

@trickyfoxski (who wishes to remain an anonymous Twitter handle for obvious reasons) was the one who in this most recent video called Britney Spears a "tired hag."

And she says that ever since the episode aired, her account has been hit non-stop by fans who want to defend Britney's honor by saying awful things to her hater. @trickyfoxski said:

"The reactions have been entertaining. One lovely person suggested that I kill myself. Another charming person said I should rot in hell. The one that made me laugh though accused my family of inbreeding. I guess they saw where I was from and fired off that gem."

 

Unfortunately, it went farther than just "mean tweets."

 

Ugh.

Come on guys, we all love Britney, but that doesn't give you the right to be horrible! This is a real person!

This has moved from trolling the troll to breaking the law.

yall this is annoying af, this girl is being a sarcastic brat and milking her 15 minutes by whining about it to news sites. these people do not represent the Britney Army and it was a select few. this happens with every fanbase when someone insults their fav.

I tweeted her telling that we know the tweet was old and laughing about the people that were bashing her, just to let her know not every britney fan was a freak, she didn't answer tho, and she kept on answering the other bashing tweets, so it seems like she is enjoying it

I do think the fan base is Juvenile and I wish we would learn to be professional in our passion but Perez should go back and apologize for the evil he has posted in his online career each time he wants to condemn others behavior. Little of it compares to his stuff since he had a huge audience at the time. The individual Britney fans do not. Writing about this stuff just paints a negative eye onto Britney herself. It's not fair to her from the fans nor the media. 

 

I know Perez has repented but he really should have been ran out of the the entertainment blogging completely. Imo.

This is common for all fan basses on twitter not just the Britney Army tho.  All stanbases go hard and in when their Queen is attacked in any sort of way.  Does it make it right, not at all, but in the world of social media this is routine.

I think the fanbase on this site is generally more grounded than other sites that were formally devoted to only her.
