I actually think it's such a great disservice to Britney's talent to think she can't do better than... whatever she is now. :yaknow:

i just want to know why were blaming her completely though? I mean yes she has to want it in order to succeed but what about the team of people she has hired? Shitty choreographers, will.i.am and a label that has kept her in a box for so many years. Is it too much think that maybe she doesnt give us what we want because its not what she wants, and im not talking about the career, i mean she has checked out bc no one is looking at her complete vision she has for herself, i mean when you can see the look she has in her face when performing bomt, i dont think she is bored with her career, i think shes bored with maintaining a tired old image thats lost its excitement and truth is, would this fanbase support her if she did a complete change? Cause she must know a majority of fans like to rewind back to 2001 all the time.

I don't necessarily want her to dominate the industry again. I just want her to put out quality music and work to her full potential, whatever that may be now). This isn't about comparing Britney to out artists, but instead herself. I couldn't care less about hype or sales, just the fact that I don't think Britney gives her all as much as she did before.

i actually agree with you but why compare her to herself when she was 20 years old? I feel like some fans are trapped in 2001 and anything less than that is laziness and her begging to retire.

She can't be 20 forever, and I know that. But I look forwards to seeing what she will do with album 9, an album she seems to have control over and is excited about. I think she'll be even better than now--and what she's doing now is much better than just 3 years ago.

1) is false ffs, stop with that stupid contract excuse. SHE doesnt do promo because SHE doesnt want to, it's not the contract. She can perform anywhere she wants outside North America. (and yet it's not even specified if it's about any type of performances including promo, or just concerts) so no it doesnt say she cant do promo.

Have you seen Britney's Contract? I have taken Media Law at University and they are strict on Contracts. "WB" Video should of told you something. It has Product placement all over the Video, mainly for Planet Hollywood. Capital Records were confined in promoting anything but Vegas I checked out their Site in reference to Britney. Britney's overseas promotions are mainly talk radio. And on top of all that she may want to promote but Management might not be letting her to do so.

We do blame her team (even more than we blame Britney). But, she is to blame too.

She is not a retarded robot, who can't say no and I think then fan base should stop treating her like one. She is lazy and has been disappointing fans for years. Whether that's because of her illness is up for debate, but if she can't do it half decently anymore, she shouldn't do it at all.

It's sad because my standard is just that she looks happy onstage and for decent generic music. Can you honestly tell me those aren't embarrassing standards she already doesn't meet? :gloria: Those aren't even 2001 standards.

Britney doesn't have the flexibility as other Artists do. If her father has to approve who she is dating that should tell you the limits that are put upon her.

ok, so i get it now. Even though she has 16+ years in the business, she has not met our standards of what she can be as an entertainer and therefore, she must raise her game if she ever wants to dominate the music scene again and if not, then she will be a complete hasbeen by 35 and beyonce will be laughing at her....ok got it!

It's not about meeting standards of people, but if she's gonna keep releasing music and performing, she will always have something to prove as an artist, it's non stop. No good artist will wanna go backwards, they always wanna keep going forward.

She'll probably never be like she was in her prime, and that's ok. But it doesn't mean that you give mediocre work because of past success. It's not about dominating anymore, she's already done that and her name will always be there. But it's about maintaining a good creative artistry. Lip-syncing to 16 year old vocals is not something to respect, even more when they're pitched higher than usual.

I'm sure Papa Spears puts a gun to her head to deliver half-assed performances, do no promo and release a bad album. :zoomzoom:

Look, i understand what everyone is saying but what we all think whats going on is opinion. Your opinion might be laziness, your opinion might be illness etc. Thats what all of this is opinion not fact. Only Britney has the truth of where she is in life and where she stands with her career. And for everyone here, we have no control over anything. Yes we can stop buying, stop going to the shows but then what? A persons life doesnt end when their careers end. So if boycotting all things Britney until she gets her "act" together sounds good, what will that do. If coddling her and saying she did fine all the time sounds good, what will that do? Nothing, cause its her career at the end of the day. She gave us what we wanted and it has nothing to do with music, dancing, none of that. She gave us Britney Spears, the name alone she gave us. She gave us herself. Face it , those who still come here with complaints still come back because the name alone creates feelings inside. All in all, Album 9 is a wait and see. and for me, im not in rush. To have an album.9 proves to me she is still giving all she has left. Herself.
