BritneyJeanAmaze Posted December 10, 2014 #1 Report Posted December 10, 2014 I was talking to some friends saying that I'm going to Vegas next year to see Britney Spears in concert and I swear literally everyone was like where has she been she hasn't released new music in years. One person said he hasn't heard about her since her meltdown. I mean is she seriously that underexposed now? She used to be everywhere and now she's slowly fading away or fastly. The only ones that know about her now is her fans. I'm really starting to believe her legacy is dying
Yatz Posted December 10, 2014 #2 Report Posted December 10, 2014 They are stupid!!! like don't tell me you didn't heard of Scream and shout!! that shit was everyday on the radio! like 7 times a day! Don't tell me they didn't sing along with Till The world Ends!!! Don't tell me they didn't heard something when she went brunette or when she had her hair cut, like.. people act stupid or are stupid!!!! Even my friend who likes metal and has nothing to do with pop music has heard about all this things! They just refuse to think about her
Yatz Posted December 10, 2014 #3 Report Posted December 10, 2014 and!!.. Britney's legacy will die when we die, or when the younger of her fans die! (Remember that her fans are famous singers too) 1

But yeah especially during the Circus era and the amount of radio play she got with FF, I can't believe anyone hasn't heard about her since 2007.

They are lying they just dont wanna give her the credit. and Scream and shout was successful just for that line lol..
BritneyJeanAmaze Posted December 10, 2014 Author #6 Report Posted December 10, 2014 That's what I thought too! I guess everyone is so used to her dominating the vmas and performing everywhere and making headlines for the controversy she would create that they forgot about her now that she isn't so controversial anymore.
killthelights Posted December 10, 2014 #7 Report Posted December 10, 2014 They're full of it. She's been very successful single-wise the past years. She always has been. Scream & Shout was on REPEAT when I would club in London when I studied abroad...the crowd fav for sure. TTWE HIAM and Work Bitch all huge hits in the clubs and commercially

I don't think it's just that people are unaware I mean, some people may be but a lot of people just don't wanna admit to knowing about anything britney related anymore because they feel they might look like fans when they aren't or they are but don't want others to know

Caroline77 Posted December 10, 2014 #10 Report Posted December 10, 2014 How old are they?? You know guys, Britney isn't the center of the world and people dont pass their time on celebrity website, listening generic radio stations or even watching music video on tv. When i went to the FFT in 2011, my sister who was 26yo at this time didn't know Britney was still a singer (and she was a fan during BOMT and Oops.) people just have a life and dont live in a Britney bubble. She had a job, a child, she's not listening radio she has CD's and listen to latin music so yeah. A lot of people just dont care what happened in hollywood land. 1

Enrique fan i see why am I not surprised. Joking lol, but yeah ur somewhat right , although many people do listen to radio and youtube a lot, even when they have kids. I mean ,s&s and ttwe and wb and i wanna go were everywhere, radios, youtube, streams, EVERYWHERE. So even when u are an adult with life, its hard to miss those things when ur surrounded by them dont u think?>
Veronica the witch Posted December 10, 2014 #12 Report Posted December 10, 2014 maybe they just live under a rock or something, i mean come on, didnt they heard about the alien controversy, unfortunately that shit was everywhere and to be honest when she does something good the GP doesn't notice but if it is something bad suddenly they start talking and throwing shade at her
LiaLovesGodney Posted December 10, 2014 #13 Report Posted December 10, 2014 If you asked what any other famous person was up to besides Britney, I most likely wouldn't be able to answer. We are huge fans, so we stay on top of everything Britney. Most people do not, obviously. And that's okay. Even though it is annoying when someone acts as if she has not made music in years. She has had multiple hits since '07. 1
JoshLee Posted December 10, 2014 #14 Report Posted December 10, 2014 Really everyone has heard of her now and days. People still ask me about her and what are my thoughts are her bf and stuff. They didnt know she released BJ though, very few people know about that
Caroline77 Posted December 10, 2014 #15 Report Posted December 10, 2014 Enrique fan i see why am I not surprised. Joking lol, but yeah ur somewhat right , although many people do listen to radio and youtube a lot, even when they have kids. I mean ,s&s and ttwe and wb and i wanna go were everywhere, radios, youtube, streams, EVERYWHERE. So even when u are an adult with life, its hard to miss those things when ur surrounded by them dont u think?> Hmm no lol. I mean i don't know maybe it's different where you live, but people around me, like +25yo, they don't give a shit about that, they don't stream songs neither go on youtube, there are some people who just don't care about music world in general you know. My brother in law didn't even know who the fuck was Enrique for example, he heard some music of him obviously but he didn't know it was from him or even who he was. So i'm not surprised some people aren't aware Britney is still doing music since it's been since Circus that she doesn't even promote outside US (and i'm not talking about stupid 2minutes interviews that nobody except the fans will know about) and worse now because she's stuck in Vegas. Also just because you listen to radio doesn't mean you know who is singing (especially regarding Britney since her voice is unrecognizable and has very generic songs that basic singers could sing), when i listen to radio it's just to have some noise because i don't like when it's quiet and for 80% of it i don't even know who's singing what. Plus, as i said not everyone listen to a "mainstream" radio, some people listen to other radio stations that aren't airing generic music = No Britney on it. You may have a hard time to understand that because you're a Britney fan and you might be interested by what's going on in the music world, but you have to accept the fact that some people just really really don't care.
Nelli Gaidai Posted December 11, 2014 #16 Report Posted December 11, 2014 i think she is just starting again. she's gotten better after her breakdown. i think it's only gona get better from now on. i think the hardest stuff is in the past already

Feelslikethecrowdissaying Posted December 11, 2014 #18 Report Posted December 11, 2014 Unfortunately it's the same with me, I'm from the UK and NOBODY seems to know any recent music from her, when i reference WB it's the 'I saw that on Alan Carr' line and that's it. Everyone acts like she's some faded early 00s star... they still love her but just don't have a clue what's she been up to since Circus
Brian.TheDog Posted December 11, 2014 #19 Report Posted December 11, 2014 people who don't regularly follow other artists are unaware of their music and releases, it's perfectly normal
