Imagine if Breathe On Me replaced Outrageous as a single. Would it slay??? Would it be successful??

Personally it would slay really hard, easily top 20. And Britney wouldn't break her knee.. :crying2:

The video would most likely be banned for being "too sexual". Then at the VMAS in 04' she would perform a mashup of Toxic/BOM/and IGTBB!

And see how TOXIC worked....

IKR Jive is so stupid..

Apparently Jive wanted Bombastic Love as the lead single instead of I'm A Slave 4 U. :icantt:

BOMBASTIC Love would've flopped. And Britney would be another Alanis Morrastite..

Breathe on Me is probably my favorite song from ITZ. It slays so hard, even my friends when I play it for them. Easily would have broken top 10 I think and it definitely would have been a better choice than Outrageous.

As far as I can remember, 'Boom Boom' was supposed to be the fourth single, with 'Breathe On Me' slated as the fifth, and she was going to perform a mash-up of both at the '04 VMAs.  That was the rumor back then, I think.  Both songs probably would have slayed, especially the former, since hip-hop and "urban" music was so big at the time.

'Outrageous' fucking ruined everything- if Jive hadn't insisted on making it a single just for the stupid Catwoman tie-in, Britney never would have been filming that video, meaning she wouldn't have blown out her knee.  And because of her injury, the movie tie-in was dropped, so it was all a huge waste in the end, anyway.  Ugh.  The sad thing is, Britney hated that song and never wanted it to be released, but the label went against her wishes and then the shit hit the fan.

No doubt "Breathe on Me" was going to be a single, too many official remixes were made for it not to be, and it would have done well.  "Touch of My Hand" was likely going to be one too.   Both are really among her best (never-to-have-been singles).

I still dream about it :crying3:

What really pisses me off, is that she could have still released the single after the Outrageous fail. I mean, she didn't have to dance on a video for BOM. :yaknow:

:crying2:

50 shades could have been the perfect way to give it a second chance, so much better than Haunted. But they even snubbed Toxic :crying1:
