How Could Be If Britney Marked The End Of Generic Edm?

There are a lot of songs with EDM since 2009-2010. Maybe you talk about dubstep, but Britney did not brought EDM as a whole (which is the subject of this topic, and not dubstep especially) into mainstream music, absolutely not.

Whatever Caroline. :icant:

Authentic EDM is amazing, not the shitty generic tracks mainstream record labels produce :zoomzoom:

that trend is gone though, really the top songs aren't even edm like all that bass, shake it off, problem... so there's nothing to end. Britney wouldn't be the first one to end it because it's already done

Her team would be idiotic to pursue another dance album. Look at the BB top 10; except for 2009-2010 sounding relic Animals from the biggest sellouts in recent history, Maroon 5,, ALL of them have a purer pop/retro sound (Uptown Funk, the 2 Meghan Trainor songs, Blank Space, Take Me to Church, Ed's new single, and Sam Smith).

Britters can for sure put a nail in the EDM coffin, considering she started electro pop for women with BO. What she'd replace it with is up in the air, as it should be, considering that if its to be new, it can't just be a rehash of current trends and shit.

Ugh I could argue for hours on this :embarrassed:

Finally, a good analysis!

EDM is dying and this whole retro shit is booming.

Britney's brand belongs in dance music, though. So if ever, she branches out, the music still has to be danceable.

If she goes pop rock, it should be a more dance rock like Blondie or The Strangeloves. Or something anthemic like Kelly's Stronger or The All American Rejects' Gives You Hell or Paramore's Ain't It Fun. Other than that, she could look into Green Day, other Paramore songs or The Corrs.

Or else, she could revisit her more bubblegum pop vibe in her early albums that Taylor is currently making popular. I'm not sure if that will suit her image and brand anymore, however. She could maybe just keep the catchy bubblegum melodies, but make the themes more mature.

:shankyou: thank you dahling :-*

And I agree with your follow up post, and I would die if Blondie-level material came from Brit. She could totally pull off a Heart of Glass-esque sound; it's mature, it's danceable, and it's appropriate for someone who's 15 years into her career to do.

That airy disco-punk rock of Blondie's debut album would also sound great with Brits vocals and would coincide with her desire to go more pop rock :mhm:

I really hope she's educated herself with artists like them instead of Katy Perry. :orangu:

I agree and aside from Heart Of Glass, Britney needs her One Way or Another and Call Me :crying3:
