every single album has it's good and bad songs, even blackout, even itz. i don't think her music has gotten worse, i think she's consistently made great music that i enjoy. that's all i care about, not whether she's starting new trends and being the leader of music shifts in the pop genre or whatever, but whether she's making music that i personally enjoy. and she's always done that for me, since the beginning

ITZ thru FF are pretty much the only the only albums I listen to from Britney (plus like 4 or 5 songs from "Britney" and all of her unreleased). I only dislike one album out of the 3 following Blackout. :yaknow:

But Blackout is my holy Godney bible, I must confess. :sorrynotsorry:

I loved Circus and still listen to Femme Fatale repeatedly. I thought FF was a great album! I wouldn't say the music got worse after Blackout at all.

I agree. FF is my 3rd favorite Britney album ever and Circus is good too.

About BOMT and OIDIA, I don't think they're generic, it's just that Max Martin produced every bubblegum pop album back in the 90's :P

Femme Fatale is the only good album since Blackout.

Circus is a basic overrated album by fans with a lot of filler songs...It's as good as Britney Jean. You like it only because was her big comeback, but it's a very basic album. Like 6/13 songs are REALLY good.

Britney Jean is as Circus. Very basic, but a little worse.

Both albums are EMBARRASSING.

It wasn't disrespect :uhwtf: I was quoting what I've heard some fans say about albums after blackout and I simply stated my opinion about bomt and oidia. The only album of Britney that I really don't listen to is bomt. Just because I don't like every song on my idol's albums doesn't mean I'm disrespecting her.

I think in some years time FF will probably get more attention. I would say that her worst album is her first album only because it really didn't stand the test of time in terms of the lyrics and the beats even though it has tight production. I can only listen to BOMT, Crazy (Stop Remix), BTMYH and Beat Goes On. The BJ album is her next worst album mainly because of the production even though most of the songs have strong lyrics. I think what happened in BJ is someone at RCA and most likely Will.i.am decided to switch directions with the album last minute, Britney wasn't feeling it and we got what we got because it got rushed. Britney and her managers need to stand up better to what they know is right for her, mainly let Britney be the final word on what happens with the songs like she was on ITZ and BO and she'll be back on track. Even with all that drama of the last era, she still has one of the most solid catalogs of any current pop star out there though.

I totally agree 100% with this

well I don't think BOMT was horribly "generic" but it definitely wasn't a trendsetter bubblegum pop was a thing around then, and the UK started right?

What made Britney stand out was her performances, dancing, innocence, and ofc catchy tunes around then

you obviously don't have a clue what you're talking about. how old are you anyways...?! i'm 25 and basically experienced what i'm talking about. with that sig you're probably not even 18 yet which is why you don't know shit about pop music or music in general.

BOMT and oops weren't generic AT ALL. they didn't succeed based on someone else's previous success. britney was the FIRST and only white female solo singer around that age to not only mix pop music and soul together but also take risks as far as a sexual image at age 17 is concerned. unlike the spice girls for example, britney's popularity boosted among both genders, all skincolors and definitely listeners of all ages.

I kinda agree.Although i think OIDIA has a great production and deserves to be called a good album too.

Yes, FF is my second favorite after Blackout and in fact her best reviewed album.

Just ignore some so called "fans".Some of them are genuinely disliking her albums after Blackout which i get it, but some are just following the crowd and acting like a picky commentor. As if saying something really harsh would make them look a little bit "wiser".

The only albums I don't particularly listen to are the two named after her :gloria:

Same! And I feel kinda bad that the albums named after her are ones I don't pay much attention to. With Britney, I only listen to a handful of those songs regularly.

Circus was a great album, I really liked it since the moment it came out and bought 3 copies right away, FF wasn't the best for me but I still enjoyed listening it, its just too autotuned for me thats all but the production is flawless. But BJ will never be good enough for Britney :( its too average for someone to the likes of her im afraid.

same here, S4U/Intimidated, Overprotected, Lonely, Boys, and sometimes INAGNYAW are what I glean from Britney :ugohome:

Britney Jean is as Circus. Very basic, but a little worse.

I see you have no knowledge what does "basic music" mean... :blackoutsmiley:

Which Circus tracks sound VERY basic? Womanizer, Amnesia and Trouble? You're right, but the rest is not basic AT ALL. Maybe a couple songs (Shattered Glass, L&L, Quicksand) are unfinished but still, they're something new, fresh and most of Britney base loved them.

If you did not like this album it doesn't make it right away basic, because the only generic albums in Britney's discography are Femme Fatale and Britney Jean and it's a FACT. Of course, I like FF because the songs are catchy, but it's nothing fresh, we had a chance to hear very similar music on the radio since 2009. Also the vocals are autotuned to death which make me really sad. I guess Britney wasn't happy making this record and somehow I'm not that happy with the final result as well. Britney Jean was 100% worse than FF, so I'm not even gonna comment, but please don't compare this mess with Circus where Britney sang almost every verse and Myah was used only to sing a line in one song or maybe a few backing vocals.

I've never heard songs like Blur, Mannequin, Phonography, If U Seek Amy, Unusual You or even hated by everyone Mmm Papi anywhere. They'revery special and I'm glad Britney team decided to release them. I really hate when people say "you like this album only because her comeback"... comeback to what? to being a succesfull singer? because it's not like she had a break from music, she released Blackout almost less than a year before the release of Circus.

Personally I think all of her albums are great expect for Britney Jean (although some people think it's great and I'm really happy they liked it because I wish my opinion was the same but I won't low my standards for Britney) and saying that her music has gotten worse after blackout is a bullshit...

I disagree. Some of my favorite Britney songs of all time are from Circus and FF. The albums overall have improved since in my opinion. Very few filler songs on those albums. The only one I feel that is truly worse is BJ.

This. The Circus hate is unnecessary. :entertainme: It has some of the most unique songs of her entire discography.

I did not want to comment, since I "left" universe for a while (Unfortunately, some of friends from my country created account on here the day I was leaving and they stopped me, so I was talking with them those couple days and somehow I'm still here, nevermind :orangu:), but today I opened this thread and when I read this post my Circustard person couldn't handle it at all :gloria: I mean, I accept the fact that some people don't like Circus and find it boring, but saying it's very basic and as good as BJ makes me feel angry :orangu:

It has one of her worst critics. And...? What critics have to do with it? Circus musically is not basic at all, it's all about the sound, not the ratings. Anyway, if it was "that bad", it wouldn't sell so many copies :smokeney:
