This song is so underrated that even I who STANNED for this song back in the day sometimes forget about it.

So flawlessly written and sung, I love it, the first Britney song I connected with on a personal level. :crying1:

I know other stans on here love this too, even my friends who were into fake TLC wannabes Destiny's child and Ja rule at the time had to pay respect to this flawless song.

Who else loves this? :omg1:

Did Ja Rule really need the mention? LOL. Anyway yeah that song was sooo good but I liked "Lonely" much more. I feel like both songs were the first time she expressed her angst and I'm not sure if she wrote either of them but regardless I feel like these were very personal to her at the time.

Haha, he did say he was a fan back in the day. I loved Lonely too, it reminded me of P!nk's rnb stuff on her first album but a much poppier version, and the little talky rap bit :thirsty:

but Let me be slayed my life, I don't think she wrote Lonely but her name is on the credits for Let me be, I wonder who it's about?

I think "Lonely" was lowkey about Justin even though they were still a couple at the time she recorded the song I think they were having trouble (because otherwise why did Justin get so upset at her getting her nails done and not coming back home for a while that he wrote "Gone" I never really was sold on that explanation). "Let Me Be" might have been directed at her parents, her team and/or "concerned" media critics.

I wouldn't be surpised, I always thaought 'What you see is what you get' was about Justin too although she didn't write it, obvious it's speculation but I just always thought that. I always think it's like she was warning us about how she felt with Lucky, overprotected, Not a girl and Let me be but I guess the media chose to ignore so they could see the freakshow. :crying1:

I haven't heard this song for YEARS!!! Awesome!!!

Songs like this, really match her voice and there is no need for alterations...

She shouldn't include songs that her voice cannot support...

I love this. In fact I love the Britney album. It's definitely one of her best albums. My favourite songs from it apart from the singles are Lonely, Anticipating (I know this was a single but only in France I think), Cinderella, Let Me Be, Before The Goodbye, I Run Away, When I Found You and What It's Like To Be Me.

Wow, I basically meant all my friends who only liked RnB and hip hop had loved this song to. DC and ja rule were the biggest in those days. Not that it's really a big deal.

I'm glad people are still loving this tune and even discovering it because its a flawless song and never gets mentioned. I had to give it a shout out. Here's to hoping album 9 has songs that have this much conviction.

this is my song omg i love it so much and im still obsessed. i can never get over the flawlessness that it is :crying1: she executes it so perfectly too. and those hott performances she had of it, should of been a single :sorrynotsorry:

she never performed "let me be". stop. :zoomzoom:
