If there was an ounce of hype to the song, it would have done better.

The song itself is very pretty, has BOMTney vocals on it, and is one of Britney's best ballads in the sense that it suits her vocal range and allows her to do natural ad libs.

Work bitch did better because of the hype -- Britney's amazing body, her return to kick ass choreography, the controversy over the repetitive use of the word bitch, as well as being hailed the workout song of 2014.

There was no hype at all for perfume, it just flatlined. The video could have created hype but it was a boring waste of 4 minutes. I've only watched it once and have no intention of doing it again.

I agree, however I Wanna Go had no hype and no promo yet it was a hit (obviously it is catchier). For some reason I believe Sia more on the song :orangu:

There was definite hype over the iwg video, are you serious? They even remixed the song for clubs and radio.

Britney's vocals were quite raw and they were perfect for the song. We almost forgot her voice, before perfume, with so many layers and back up vocals in her songs.

Also, it wasn't supposed to be acoustic...
