I remember anticipating the release of Britney Jean and being so excited for it... I remember everyone getting ready to share the album, buy multiple copies, hang posters around their town, etc.

But then the album came out and no one did that stuff. I mean, even if you didn't like the album, why didn't some fans buy it? I'm so confused about that terrible part of Britney's career. I just hope that doesn't happen with album 9... :eeek:

Let's be real , not everyone knew about BJ some ppl said " I didn't even know she came out with a new album " it was all lack of promotion , everyone mostly knew about Vegas because she promoted Vegas to the max .. Think about it , BJ flopped and POM is successful .. If she would've did major promo for BJ it would of went #1 w/out a doubt

i remember it leaking and everyone obsessing over how good it was but then the sales went down cuz there was zero promotion. we were all waiting for a performance. we got the music video and gma appearance but that is it. i thought bj was another great britney album. i mean i am not gona lie its my least favorite for reasons i dont want to go into detail but i dont see bj as flop in her career. i thought ff tour was pretty bad. i mean i enjoy it soo much, i just love it but it was so different from what i expected and at the time, disliked so much, that kind of left a big bruise on me :notimeforu:

don't get me wrong, I love BJ! It's my 3rd fave out of Britney's albums. But it just seems like fans gave up so quick and it puzzles me. :tbh:

I bought it, but I was really disappointed, like REALLY. Alien was my favorite song and the demo was much better that the final version.

I loved the 5 seconds we'd get to listen to body ache, but then I listened te whole thing and :zoomzoom:

I ended up loving WB, Alien, HOT, and sometimes Don't cry and BMS, but the rest :zoomzoom:

To answer your question, I think the fanbase gave up on the Britney Jean promo campaign since they realized Britney wasn't going to do any promo performances. It did kind of suck to know she wasn't going to perform "Work Bitch" or "Perfume" anywhere until her Vegas show. I was at least hoping for 2 or 3 promo performances leading up to the album release date, like what happened with Circus and Femme Fatale album promo campaigns. but I still did my best to help sales as I always do when Britney drops a new album.

Anyway, regarding the album, I would say it's my least favorite album in her discography, but that being said I still love certain moments from it. I think the hate it gets is a little overboard though. Sure the production could be better, but the album still has some solid songs on it.

I really loved it. Only bought one :P But I think it kinda damaged it the fact that it was available on stream like a week before the actual release. So when the actual release took place, there wasn't so much excitement, only for the deluxe tracks, which I think leaked earlier too.

I understand the fact that GP didn't know about it, because of the lack of promo, or half assed promo, because they actually anticipated the album and kinda talked about it, but she never performed not even Work Bitch on any TV show or awards show. But I don't understand why the actual fans wouldn't buy the album, if they knew it was coming out, promo or no promo, because, well, they're fans. :yakno: I know that one was maybe because of the "most personal" promise and the "urban album" and stuff. I don't know, but Tik Tik Boom was enough Urbanney for me :dealwithit:

So who knows. I mean, I get the rest of the world didn't even know about the album's existence, but I'll never understand why most of the actual fans hated the album. I know it's not the best Britney has ever done, but I think is better than Blackout, and I listened to Britney Jean everyday on my road from home to college, for the first half of 2014 I think. :mhm:

The other thing I don't understand either, is why her team, or the label gave up on the album. It didn't sell well, so they scrapped any future single? How the heck were they expecting the album to sell if she didn't promote it properly in the first place? :wutsgoingon: They should have made at least 2 or 3 more videos, and send the tracks to radio, without actually releasing the singles, and obligue people to buy the whole album if they wanted any of those songs :P

Welll..... I don't owe Britney anything nor should I be responsible for the upkeep of her career, so I don't need to buy music I do not like.

Just because you're a fan of someone doesn't mean you have to buy their products if you don't like them. I bought both iTunes and physical copies (regular and deluxe) the day it came out. I'm not the type to buy more than that, nor am I going to post posters around my town or any of the other ridiculous things fans do nowadays. I believe many fans were disappointed with the lack of promo (everyone wanted at least one performance) and when they saw sales weren't sky rocketing they gave up on it before it had a chance. Then came the nitpicking of every song and myah allegations. Which is a real shame because Britney Jean is still a great album that I listen to often
