This is definitely from Original Doll! :bigtime: Remember that OD was meant to be instead of ITZ, but her record label changed the whole concept and that's how we got ITZ. Years later, she wanted to continue with HER vision of the music she wanted to put out, until it got completely shot down. So to me, it definitely is an OD demo. :mhm:

Wasnt ITZ before OD....Like i coulda sworn the OD was like after 2004

It definitely sounds like Peep Show, mostly because of the guitars, so yeah, I'd say it was meant to be on Original Doll. I have to say that I really like it! It's something very different and fresh, and the songs that showcase her falsetto always sound really good! I'm so glad we get to hear a new song after that much time without a leak ;)

I don't like it :\ I feel like it's a bit all over the place. However, I don't know if anyone else noticed.. but her vocals sound like her vocals on "Love to love you" if you pay attention. We want more leaks! :D

Vocals and lyrics aren't her best, but the music itself is amazing, acoustic and raw. Glad to at least have a new song. :yay1:

THIS!! Totally Agree!

I agree!! I know everyone is saying that this is for original doll but it really sounds more like ITZ to me!! Kinda has that "Gotta get" demo vibe. ...

This song sounds like it's for JT with those guitars, I like them a lot. The vocals could use work but that's only when she's going for those falsettos. It's a demo so I'm not gonna be too hard on it, I like this direction for her and I hope we get something along these lines from her soon, with actual live instruments and not only synthesized ones, that's more updated and in her natural register.

You wrote everything i was thinking.

Um...Are we sure it' spelled right?

:aww1:

Conscious is the state of being awake.

Conscience is knowing the moral difference between right and wrong. (And it's also said in the lyrics, as Conscious is not.)

You are my CONSCIENCE. (You are the voice in my head telling me this is right / wrong.)

You are my CONSCIOUS (You are my state of being awake? That doesn't make much sense.)

:eyeroll: Did you even read what Michelle said about Original Doll?

Britney kept saying, during the Britney era, that she knew how the business worked so she was ready to take control on her next project. That was OD, Britney started recording demos that had this organic, folk vibe but her record label wasn't feeling it, at all. Britney was a sex goddess, and they needed to exploit that. So they changed the direction Britney had for her 4th album and ITZ was created (thank God :yestbh: ).

This topic is completely related to Britney getting tired of the industry / her breakdown / etc etc. and I could keep talking about it; but our focus now is OD.

After the whole knee thing, she started recording again but this time around she had a different feeling and direction for her new album. For instance, Dramatic and Mona Lisa sound nothing like ML&H, Peep Show and Conscious so it kind of ressembles what was going through her mind at the time; not to mention Rebellion, but that is more related to Blackout than to OD :mhm:

We all know what happened next; Britney leaked Mona Lisa and that was it.

Original Doll doesn't represent an era per sé, it represents the desire Britney had to put out music she wanted for once. And to me, Blackout is Original Doll remastered :bigtime: She chose what to put out, what to sing about regardless of what everyone else wanted. That's why Blackout is so special :yestbh:

To make it more clear (and not the extend this post even more), Originall Doll is all around pre ITZ, GH:MP, Chaotic and Blackout. Original Doll lasted like 3 years :ummlol:

Songs that didn't make it to ITZ were recorded for OD (not all of them, of course. I mean the songs recorded prior her RC changed the direction. Once it was changed, she recorded other songs with this new direction in mind...).

Songs included on GH:MM and Chaotic were recorded for ITZ, but didn't make the cut, ergo Original Doll (Do Somethin', I've Just Begun, Someday and Mona Lisa).

I don't think MP was recorded back then. It has all this chaotic attitude Britney had during that time that only got worse and badasser which we all know by the name of "Blackoutney" :mahhaw: So she definitely recorded it specially for her GH album. Chaotic and Over To You Now were recorded for ITZ after her initial direction was changed.

It's a little confusing, but I tried to really explain it and break it down for y'all.
