BlackoutEgo Posted January 26, 2015 #1 Report Posted January 26, 2015 I still love me some currentney just in case y'all start assuming lol , I was just watching some old YouTube vidz of Britney and I was watching her cover a ballad from journey "open arms" from her BOMT Tour & OMG her vocals are soooooo good and it had me thinking of how much I miss that Britney. She would always sing live and do covers , I know she did covers for her circus tour and FFT but I just miss her singing ballads and live , i understand why she lip syncs I just wish she wouldn't cuz I miss her voice . All she has to do is train her self , like she could run the treadmill and sing at the same time until she gets used to singing along with being able to catch her breathe on time . I also know her voice has changed cuz she has been through a lot and also smokes a lot (I wish she would stop smoking tbh) I'm just sharing what I miss that's all , I still love and appreciate currentney I'm just expressing what I miss that's all http://youtu.be/oTtnYUD65f4 2

Even if she's too nervous to sing she could pre-record vocals, instead of singing on tracks from a decade ago and a few years ago. It's embarrassing 1

bnichole Posted January 26, 2015 #11 Report Posted January 26, 2015 It's not so much the live singing for me because nobody ever truly went to a Britney concert to hear her sing (although we know if she wanted she could) but I miss her overall performances. I miss her being in love with the stage and genuinely being happy to be performing. I almost feel bad going because I feel like it's not truly what she wants to do. It's like a 9 to 5 for her.

I feel that she loves doing it but her anxiety goes up when she performs in front of others , like if u pay attention to the bts or rehearsal videos she goes extremely hard and loves it and even has fun with her dancers , but once she hits the stage in front of everyone her anxiety goes up , I think it's because what she's been through and what the media and ppl did to her that has her a bit traumatized

I noticed her voice started to dramatically change when I went to her onyx tour and she performed everytime completely live her vocals were not as good , it had a lot to do with smoking , she doesn't even exercise her voice or anything like she should , ever since she got with Kevin everything just went downhill

Which is funny because back then Britney thought it didn't really showcase her vocals and expected to do more on the second album... and then Oops happened. Not to say her vocals weren't strong on Oops because they were, but that's really where the high pitched nasally voice kicked in.

You're allowed to say whatever the hell you want. You don't need to say that you're expressing or whatever when I KNOW how intensely you feel about the old britney. Heck, I miss her too and frankly, I like her more than currently career wise and perhaps personality wise too. That girl kicked ass and she knew it and she made sure the entire world knew it too. Currentney is a disgrace to britney's legacy. I don't care if i'm going to get attacked. Stop feeling so afraid of saying your opinion because we can all read between the lines you know, we know you're being cautious with your words in order not to get attacked or get down points. You're entitled to your opinion and you should NEVER be afraid to speak your mind. I never personally cared for britney singing live because she danced like hell back then and had the confidence of the world with that great smile and killer confidence. I'm not trying to be rude but i'm sick of tiptoeing and seeing other members tiptoe in front of "stans" on this site. If they can express their opinions and refuse to see her flaws as a performer then we should also be able to say we miss 1999-2004ney. Just because you prefer one of thing over another, it doesn't mean you hate the first one. It's not an either\or thing. Everybody has a preference.
ooh la la Posted January 26, 2015 #21 Report Posted January 26, 2015 i miss her singing too i was a fan of her music/voice first and foremost then later on i saw her different performances. she had a lovely toned soulful voice and i preferred it over christinas or other artists who came out at the time. i don't know if it is due to nerves she doesn't sing i would assume it would be more nerve wrecking to mime a ballad cos you would feel self conscious and a bit of an idiot when it evident your not singing to the audience. i would have thought this time around she would have practised enough and made the effort to sing one song live

Yea I agree to some extent lol and thank u Yes with everything u said above I agree , but I wouldn't say she's a disgrace because I know she's been through a lot and now sufferes from mental issues so that could be the main factor and the reason why she is like this , especially with the meds that make her stiff and not move as much , but I do agree with u with the rest .. I mean she's the only person that can put herself out there again , not her team or anyone just her... For sure her charisma, attitude, & energy is just gone an those are the main things she needs to put on a fantastic show .. Sux tbh 1
