Meghan and the radio hosts also played a game of word association. During the interview, Meghan reveals that Britney Spears had inspired her to become a pop star. At the 1:30 mark, when asked if she started writing music at the age of 11, Meghan replies, "Yeah, cuz I thought Britney Spears was writing her songs." After the studio erupts in laughter, she clarifies, "I was Britney Spears' biggest fan and I was like, 'She must sit at home and write these songs all by herself,' so I have to start if I want to be a pop star." i hope her career flops

But this wasn't shade... most of Britney's biggest hits aren't written by her and she did say that Brit was an inspiration to become a pop star. The reaction from the DJ's was lame and predictable tho. 3

Absolutely nothing wrong with saying when she was younger she was her biggest fan and thought Britney was writing her songs so it inspired her to do it to become a popstar. 4

Yeah, she's written/co-written, but when people (outside of the fanbase) think Britney Spears, "songwriter" isn't usually the first thing that pops into their heads. 1

I said that Britney first singles from Baby One More Time, which is her first album weren't really original as well and she didn't write any of them, so comparing Meghan's song from her first album with Everytime was kinda stupid. Did you hear her album tho? Maybe she has more personal songs, such as Everytime, who knows. I personally don't like her music, nor her voice and find her hits annoying as fuck, but I don't like when people do these comparisons. Why didn't you compare Mmm Papi with this? It also isn't anything special, I'd say the lyrics suck and they're written by Britney.

I know and sometimes people make a comment about britney in the B-army just some constructive criticism and then people start attacking the person, saying "Britney was a little slow, she should work out more" is different than saying "she's a motionless robot" also it's not like this girl said anything like "Britney is an idiot who can't write songs" which she isn't but you get my point, in a way she called Britney an inspiration 1
