howwasisupposetoknow Posted February 14, 2015 #1 Report Posted February 14, 2015 With all that's being said about album 9, GM's single and alot of other things, i know people feel out of the loop on where Britney is going this year in terms of her career. While Vegas has improved ( She is finally showing confidence from start to finish with no wig or hair color change to provoke it), It's not enough for some fans and with the admin. permission, i want this thread to be used for everyone to speak their mind in a polite, respectable manner. Say how you feel, vent out frustration, do whatever it takes to release the tension some may have so we can fully go on this year with clear heads, no doubt and faith in our girl. Believe me, some of you may want to vent a little and now is as good of time as any! Honesty is welcomed and opinions too, as long as it doesn't trail on the abuse route. Me: While I love POM and Britney, I don't think album nine can be successful if she is not ready mentally and physically. With BJ and POM going on at the same time, she let one thing flop and another slowly gain complete momentum. I hope she is ready for the work she is going to have and be ready to FULLY commit to both album and show.
MMbritbritFAN Posted February 14, 2015 #2 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Ok, how about how people bitch and moan for an album that is not even in existence yet? How about all these people getting themselves hyped up on things they havent even seen or heard. What about some people who write post on how they could manage Britney's career and yet cant manage a math equation? I sick of seeing people critque Britney on crap that is so insignificant that its borderline crazy! I wish people would get their heads out of their asses and see that this woman is living her life and career on her terms, no one elses. She is doing things her way and i bet laughs at how people over react to everything she had done. Yes we made her famous but when we wanted more, she gave us more. We dont owe her anything but she sure as hell dont owe us anything either, especially with some of the nut cases that call themselves fans 5

Fiyero Posted February 14, 2015 #4 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Unfortunately these days you can't vent without "not being a true Britney fan" - whatever the hell that means. I guess all I'd have to say is, in my eyes, Britney's career is very stagnant right now - and it would seem a lot of folks outside of the fan base see it that way as well. Every once in a while, people will ask me "Hey, are you still into Britney Spears? What's she up to now? I haven't heard anything about her in a long time." They're not saying it in a derogatory way at all. Yeah, people know she's in Vegas, and unless you're really keeping up with what's happening in the pop culture world, you probably wouldn't know anything about the lingerie line. I'm not saying these things aren't good for Britney, though. But Britney doesn't pack as much of a punch as she used to, and that's OK to me. Give her a break. She's been doing this for ages. For a pop star to last this long is amazing - most have a shelf life of 4-5 years tops. People are going to have times when they're over her and get tired of her. It's natural. It doesn't mean she's "over". I'm glad she's branching out and doing other things that she wants to do. That being said, sometimes I'm suspect and feel like her team is milking her for every last cent, and some of her career moves are obviously not her doing at all. It definitely shows when she's not into her own projects, and when she'd rather be anywhere else. I'm by no means a manager, producer, and don't know the first damn thing about what it takes to make a star, or make one last in the business, so I can't really offer any advice on how she should manage her career from here. If she wants to keep doing this, like she says she does, then I would say she needs to re-evaluate her team. I know Larry & Co. have been with her since Day 1, but sometimes I feel like they coddle her, when they need to be pushing her a little bit more. She's obviously become very comfortable with them over the past decade and a half, and it's apparent that they have some kind of system that works for them. He was a great manager for her in the 90s - early 00s. He definitely knew what he was doing. But she's NOT a kid anymore, and the kind of advice and management she was probably receiving back then isn't what she needs now as an adult. I think that's why it's so easy for people to compare the two ends of the "Britney Spectrum" so easily. At the end of the day, it's up to Britney what she wants to do. If it's in her heart to retire, then God bless her - she should retire, raise her kids and live as normal of a life as she possibly can. If she wants to keep at this, then go for it - and put every last bit of your heart and soul into it. And shame on her team if they indeed are pushing her to keep doing this if she doesn't want to anymore. Like I said, it's up to her. And I'll support her either way. 2

LiaLovesGodney Posted February 14, 2015 #9 Report Posted February 14, 2015 To start, I'll mention that right after FF was released, Britney became a very small concern of mine. She wasn't on my radar, so to speak. For most of her career, I never really followed Britney too closely, just albums and music videos with the occasional update on her personal life. The only time I was more or less obsessed with Britney before 2014 was between Oops and ITZ eras, and then again when Blackout brightened my life with its awesomeness. And sorta kinda for Circus (I didn't see Circus tour in full until like 2013 if that tells you anything). So now, I feel like I am a fan of a different person. Like it's Britney Spears, but it's not Britney Spears. And it's not to say that I don't understand that she's grown up and been through a lot; I totally get that. However, this is just how I feel. Harsh as it may sound, when I listen to her most recent music, take in her appearance, and watch her perform, I see a different entertainer. And it makes me feel crazy and like a crappy fan, and it's hard to explain why this is bc I barely understand it myself. So I'm waiting for her next album to have the same effect on me as her other albums, like it was fate for me to hear "BOMT", "Oops", "Gimme More", "TOMH", "Slave", "Circus", etc. I'd like to not have a conversation with a fellow fan I've met discussing how going out to Vegas could very well not be worth it, so we choose not to go (True story. He's going to Atlantic City now). Nobody kill me, please. 1
Guest QueenJocasta Posted February 14, 2015 #10 Report Posted February 14, 2015 I just wish Britney would show us ha pussy again tbh Or at least have a wardrobe malfunction and show us ha left lip.. those leotards have to be good for something 1

BlackoutEgo Posted February 14, 2015 #20 Report Posted February 14, 2015 U want us to vent well here it goes , and I'm not venting or letting my frustrations out on Britney or her team , I'm letting it out on ppl like u tbh , sorry but just saying .. This is my opinion and I'm entitled to it , i don't need a person who can't agree get pressed and wanna talk shit just cuz I ain't on their level . Now here it goes ! Britney has been successful for a long ass time and she's still powerful till this very day, one album flops and y'all act like it's the end of the world !! I'm also I'm getting tired of ppl trashing FF .. Obviously the GP didn't think FF was trash that's why it went platinum ! . Album 9 ain't even here yet ! Not even a single and y'all already bitching !! And who are u to say U don't think she's mentally and physically stable to do an album ? Ur not her doctor ! If she wasn't stable enough then she wouldn't be making music or performing . First of all we need to be real here , Britney Jean flopped because it wasn't Britney's sound , it was more of a will I am album and also there was lack of promotion .. Britney always promotes her albums but this time she didn't .. So that was definitely hard for the GP .. She went hard for Vegas instead of her album .. I'm sorry if I offended anyone but i feel like y'all over reacting , especially judging an album that ain't even here yet ! and if Britney wasn't mentally and physically stable there would be no circus era , no femme fatale era , or a BJ era .. Britney is doing fine and she's happy that's all that matters , 2015ney is more relaxed and comfortable .. But Like i said don't judge until the album is here .. But IMO it makes me sick how y'all care more for the charts then the music , like Britney said , there's gonna be moments when ur gonna be out there and moments when your not ..

It's not necessarily about popularity and sales, but the quality and content. I personally do agree that FF was good (not my favorite, but fun to listen to). And I think when people say she isn't selling like she used to, they're saying that the quality of her music and performances are not the same as they were before, when she did sell a lot per album (so pretty much from BOMT-FFish). Sales shouldn't matter at all. It's about how good the music is, period. But when the sales are low AND the music is......not what we expected (Hey, BJ), then fans will naturally say that the album didn't do well bc it wasn't good, bc Britney didn't do a whole lot of promo, etc.
Godney Jeansus Posted February 14, 2015 #23 Report Posted February 14, 2015 I agree with you. She should be ready to realease an album/ new music but this time around i think she competently ready and i'm sure this album is going to be more successful than BJ. We just need to chill a little bit and not exceptcting a lot of things tbh cause you never no. Primeney is never gonna come back but we still have Currentney and she is also amazing. Just sayin

Ok, well you did vent and i respect your response but thats not what i meant. By mentally and physically is not saying she is bipolar or anything of that nature, what im saying is to do a vegas show and prep an album can be a stressful thing when not completely ready to go full out on. IABJ showed us that prep for vegas was stressful on everyone because the magnitude of the show. Never did i say she wasn't stable to do it, i mean she is killing vegas right now, but i want her to be ready to kill vegas and release a kick ass album, which is going to require alot out her mentally and physically. Hope i explained the truth behind my statement
MELIODAS Posted February 14, 2015 #25 Report Posted February 14, 2015 I don't have anything to complain so far, Britney is doing great rn, so to say a bad thing about her is pointless, because she's still look beautiful, hot, and her performing skill (great energy) is slowly making a comeback! Vegasney has been slaying me so hard this leg But I wish she will promote album 9
