Why Do You Think Britney Lypsincs Since Circus?

you know i was watching the BSB movie 2 days ago and when Brian start talking about his problem with his voice guess who came to my mind?.......

and i was like is Britney going through the same? is her voice really damage? i remember reading some comments of fans saying that she is been forcing her voice and now is messed up and then i remember when Larry used to say she is working with a vocal couch, i been asking myself, where are the results of that couching?

i just hope she is doing something about it because i really would like to hear her sing one more time

It certainly wasn't on her last album and that paints a really bad picture. Why is he going on record that she is working with a vocal coach only to have her singing sliced, diced or completely removed in favor of her eerily similar back up vocalist? Time restraints aside, I believe the reason Myah Marie was used more then she should have been is because she is more polished and is able to sustain notes much better. Live singing has never been her strong suit since becoming a major pop star, but now not even on her own album? It's sad, the only performance the media references as being good is her "I'm Not a Girl..." from the '02 AMA's. There's nothing wrong with being a light weight vocalist but when left to her own devices, Britney should be able to sing her own songs -- live or while recording, that's not expecting much.

I really think these lipsyncing debate threads need to die. Everyone is just saying the same thing that has been said in all those other threads on all these fan forums since Britney has been famous. How crazy is that? Obviously if you're a fan of Britney you know she lipsyncs and that she's probably never going to give you a fully live show because she never has, ever even in her "prime". It's not that serious but if it bothers some of you so much then maybe you should stop being a fan of hers. Just my opinion.

Britney has not lip synced for "99%" of her career. More like 90-95%. This is including tours and promo (performances, interviews, etc). Earlier in her career, we had the chance to hear Britney sing live quite a bit (tons more than now).

Just because she does lip sync a lot does not mean dedicated fans should just be content with the fact that this singer barely ever sings outside of a studio.

Her personal issues, as far as I know, are not of the variety that can damage her vocals so much that she can't even sing one line of one song live. Unless you count smoking and lack of training as personal issues. For example, getting a divorce can't ruin someone's vocal abilities.

Along with her smoking and not practicing with her voice, another valid reason for why she lip syncs is because she cannot do so while dancing. Understandable, but she doesn't dance so much that can't ever actually sing. I call shenanigans.

And why are some of you acting like you don't understand what the OP meant? They asked a very simple question. A very good question for those who (gasp!) may want more from Britney. Because she has shown that she is capable of singing live and dancing well.

At the very least we could get some pre-recorded vocals.

I mean , I love her , I really do but it's simply weird to me how she refuses to sing live at least a song or two!

To put it this way, the songs she sings are in the key Britney is comfortable with, it is her voice, her tone, her zone. So it should be of NO struggle at all for her to actually sing these songs live. Not to mention how since Blackout she didn't record a single song which requires actual vocal struggle (no shade intended just facts) , i don't mind tho I enjoy her music and her voice too. But I cant seem to find the reason she won't sing live, it should be easy for her considering her songs are sang in a very simple low key suited for her voice?

Is she afraid? Is she lazy? Your thoughts?

To answer you directly I believe the reason she doesn't sing live is because ever since she's been famous she hasn't done it consecutively so her ability to sing live has decreased over the years, especially because a lot of her songs are done in a register that's not very healthy or natural for her vocal chords. She can sing live in the studio because she has the ability to do multiple takes while standing still and not gasping for breath. So it's not that she can't sing. But as everyone knows you can't do that live on stage. Her competitors mostly sing to backing tracks that were prerecorded but my guess is her team decided it didn't make sense to have her prerecord vocals for POM because it's still lipsyncing and she was probably pressed for time during the prep for the show, so why bother really. If you're still worried about her ability to actually sing I would just listen to the stripped dry vocal take of Perfume, Hold on Tight, the bridge of Now That I Found You and Don't Cry from BJ (arguably the best singing she's done in years and it's obvious that it's her and not the backup singer on those songs).

I think everyone GETS it and would love to hear live vocals... but I'm not willing to let it crush me when she doesn't. It's called being realistic. Yes, she sang live OCCASIONALLY early on, but she hasn't in years. I'd love for her to, but I don't expect it to happen. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. It's not making excuses, it's just accepting a fact. I've been a Britney fan for 15 years, gone to her live shows 6 times and heard one song sung semi-live. I'd go crazy if every time I watched her live I waited with bated breath to hear her live vocals - it's just not what she does.

Her choice of not singing live in her prime was more acceptable cause at least she was dancing passionately but after the breakdown she doesn't dance like she used to (i can't deny that her dancing is so much better now) and she doesn't sing her songs live and furthermore she doesn't even use pre-recorded vocals. We listen to the vocals of 16 year old Britney. This is just ridiculous but not surprising, at the end of the day she is still earning money. She has millions of fans. People are still going to Vegas to see her show. So why she should change it now? Money is all that matters. She doesn't care that people see her as a joke.
