I hope she reinvigorates her fan base with solid new music this year.  Her name still carries weight but that needs to translate to higher sales/streaming.

Niether is Beyoncé.

Beyoncé didn't really start hitting it big as a single act till the YouTube age. By then Britney's first four #1 Albums were between 4-8 years old. By the Digital age Britney's music was at least 10 years old. Yet she still tops them all. You still can't compare us to the other Fans We want the physical not digital.

I consider Beyoncé to be apart of the TRL generation of superstars (Britney, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake/*NSYNC), because Destiny's Child was a group in name only.  She was the star, the prettiest, sang lead, etc, that group wouldn't have worked without her, so her music is just as old.  Excluding "Single Ladies" Beyoncé's singles didn't benefit from YouTube all that much more then Britney's, besides "Crazy in Love" debuted in '03 when YT wasn't even a thing.  I disagree with fans preferring "physical not digital," because Britney has been more successful circa '07-'11 on radio/Billboard 100 singles charts due to high iTunes sales.  But her name alone is no longer going to be enough ("Work Bitch"/Britney Jean) and I think she can rectify this by physically promoting outside of twitter, she still has an audience that wants to see her.

Yes, but Britney was the most successful pre-digital. I believe digital is worse for Artists not better. It means at lot more to a Fan and to an Artist to know that a Fan has a physical copy of their work. I usually have both digital and physical.

I never disputed any of this tho... Personal preference aside, because I agree, having a physical copy of an album is much more real then downloading one in digital form.  However we're now in an era where digital sales/streaming accounts for a lot, Beyoncé and Britney have been around the same amount of time so hopefully she too can breathe some new life into her audience with a killer album because her last album wasn't.  That was my primary point from jump and I have faith that she can.

Everything said here is on point. GP is interested in Britney and will watch her if she promotes beyond just mundane press junkets. She needs to get out to talk to talk show hosts (when she was on Jimmy Fallon it was very exciting because people weren't used to seeing her out doing that kinda stuff in a long long time).

People will question about Beyonce but there is no denying that she knows how to work it and draw attention. She had done the Superbowl which reignited her career after 4 and started her world tour only a few months following the halftime show which drew big crowds because people knew she was the real deal and could put on a show based off Halftime. During which people were questioning why she wasn't releasing new music for a new world tour and then right after tour wrapped up she dropped the album. People say she didn't do promo but she did - just in a very innovative way where she built up to it over a span of time that continued the garner public interest. The album dropping was shocking and exciting for fans who felt compelled to buy the entire album on iTunes BECAUSE it was all inclusive with music videos accompanying it. A lot of the army shits on bey but she and her team have been a step ahead of the game the past few years and it is something to be noted and acknowledged. For britney of course the promo cannot be the same as Beyonce but she sets a good example of maintaining public interest not just for her image but her music as well. Idk if I'm getting my point across but Britney used to do a lot of press and performances that helped maintain interest in her. There has to be a plan far in advance for Brit and a lead hit single and second single and video in order for B9 to be successful
