Today makes it 6 years since Britney released "If U Seek Amy." :)

- In the song, Britney is looking for a woman named Amy in a club, and although it appears to be about sex, it is actually about how society perceives her life.

- The song sparked controversy due to the lyrics, the FCC threatened to ban the song from playing on radio if Britney's label didn't provide an edited version. Thus, "If U See Amy" was serviced to radio stations.

- Premiered March 12th, 2009 on Britney's official websites and Virgin Mobile's official website. 

- Features a parody of America's Newsroom reporter Megyn Kelly.

- James Montgomery of MTV stated that the video manages to combine elements from her previous music videos, such as the style of "Everytime" and the attitude of "Stronger."

- Rolling Stone writer Daniel Kreps compared the party on the video to the 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut and added that "this may be the first Spears video ever crafted strictly with the morally-lax Internet in mind, a brazen clip that doesn't have to tone down its explicit nature lyrically and visually in order to get airplay."

- 1st performed on The Circus Starring: Britney Spears Tour.

- Performance featured a dance number along with a comedic element with Britney playing "whack-a-mole" with her dancers.

- 2nd performance on The Femme Fatale Tour.

- Features Britney playing a Marilyn Monroe character as dancers act as photographers taking pictures of her. 

- Uses a jazz inspired remix of the song, to match the timeframe.

I believe that this song is one of the best, most clever and artistic singles Britney has ever released. Yes, Oops for example is iconic for all the right reasons but IUSA definitely stands out and cannot be compared with any other single out there.

The music video represents exactly the feel of this song and the deeper meaning makes it even more special.

Both performances were decent in the previous tours even though Britney wasn't at her best!!!

Definitely a masterpiece!!!
