"albums Just Aren't As Important In The Digital Age" ~ Larry Rudolph

In the Digital age albums aren't as important. I don't get how you all can't see the truth in that point. You all want to call Larry names about not understanding the market but it Seems he does. More so than you all at least. Especially for his artist.

Most albums that sell are from guys or from artist that promote out the wazoo. And even then it's rare to have large numbers up front. It's the artist that promo and put themselves in the public at a consistent and constant rate that slowly bring the albums sells in. Rarely are albums events now where super fans create hype and make albums a must for everybody including casual fans and the GP. All that hype and energy was wroth it because it's what drove album and ticket sells. That is what paid for albums. Hype today just pushes brand recognition and not numbers.

Britney is not going to be an artist that promos consistently and constantly again. Especially while her children are young. That lifestyle was hard on her before she was watching her kids grow up in a blink of an eye, let alone now. In InStyle Britney said that she's a parent that over worries and sometimes it gets so bad that she can't leave the house to go to work. And this Billboard interview she talks about how there are always new stuff from school to sports so clearly she wants to be a parent who is hands on with her kids. So yeah Britney is not going to be a promo queen to push albums.

Britney is going to take the time to find songs she wants to record and not just record to make an album...

She was doing that for BJ but the business got in the way. Producers don't want to waste potential good songs on an album that is going to not sell huge numbers. Nor work with an artist who they aren't really working with. Britney's anxiety and/or her need to have a mediator helping her comunucate her likes and dislikes is forever going to be an issue. There is a reason that FF and BJ are filled with songs from people who were hands on EPing/vocal producing the album and/or from people who were getting a song released as a single (or were led to believe would). Heck Black out was actually that way as well TBH. But there was a lot time between ITZ and BO like is being guessed will be with BJ and 9.

...So songs were Pulled or scrapped from BJ because of how the business works these days. No one has the time, energy or money to waste.

Albums were big deals back in the day So producers fought to even get an album track. Now it's about singles since that is how producers and song writers make money and get thier names out there.

Instead of worried about the business side, to ensure enough material for a quality album, they will record the songs Britney wants too and release them as singles. So no fighting over a song. It will be released as a single or not released at all. No time or energy to fight for great filler songs. Nor, when songs are pulled, have to worry about rush doing more filler songs to complete an album. Which left songs rushed. Not just the filler songs but wanted songs that could be perfected at the time fillers are forced to be recorded.

Everyone needs to CALM DOWN!! We are getting new music and that's amazing! And I'm really tired of ppl coming for Larry all the time. He has been her manager through everything and is probably responsible for a lot of our favorite Britney moments, songs, etc.. SO CALM DOWN PPL!

All he said is that in the digital age Singles are more important than Albums.. which happens to be true in the market right now and that's not HIS fault! Using Taylor Swifts 1989 is the exception not the rule. If you look at business articles published by Billboard.com you can see that in the past 10 yrs single sales have gone up dramatically and whole album sales have gone down.    :nowaygif:  I'm excited for the new singles and can't wait to see her in Vegas again!
