this is how it is with some fans. I guess since she just got primary custody of the boys back, she wants to make up for he last eight years and truly be a mother. Now that she is the primary parent, she has more responsibility than before, so she wants to do it right this time around.

I think what a lot of you don't understand is that it's not that Britney CAN'T do whatever because of her kids but that she doesn't WANT to. Comparing her to other famous mothers or "normal" working mothers is foolish. There is no comparison, these women don't think alike and won't make the same decisions. One isn't more right than the other either. Britney's career, since marrying Kevin and having her children, is not her top priority. Her family is, her life has shifted, and that's ok. Britney is happy being in Vegas, doing her lingerie line and recording when she wants to. She's happy being a mom and supporting her kids in the things they wanna do. They're older now, they have their own lives and schedules. She can't take them around the world like she did when they were young. They have school, homework, sports practices and games, skateboarding and whatever else they're into. And Britney doesn't want to miss any of it.

She worked her ass off for the majority of her life. Britney's earned this break. She's earned the luxury of working less and being there for her family more. After losing her boys completely she's fought like hell to get where she is, and I don't think she's going to let anything get in the way of her children. Including her career. For Britney her boys are first, and her job and fans are second. The way it should be.

I'd also like to add that just because her career isn't her number one priority doesn't mean she should retire. Clearly she's very happy in Vegas, doing something she's been dreaming of for over 10 years. She still loves to perform and make music. Just because it's not up to some standards of fans doesn't mean she should stop doing what makes her happy. Plenty of people still enjoy her, if you don't anymore that's ok. But bitching about it isn't going to change anything.

Honestly Britney said she was going to take her time so I didn't even expect an album this year, but when Iggy said a new single was coming out that usually implies that a new album is coming out... you can't blame the fanbase for putting two and two together, realistically, they should have said the singles plan before anyone confirmed anything coming out. That being said, I'm not mad that she's taking time or releasing singles beforehand, but that comment from Larry was literally the dumbest thing ever. Albums should be more important now because people can go onto iTunes and buy it with a click on a button. Selling albums is easier. I feel like he's reaching for an excuse to justify BJ not selling well, and won't just accept it that the album wasn't up to par for Britney and needed promo. And feeding her that crap is probably not doing her any good and that's probably one contributing factor as to why there's not as much promo. Because if "album sales don't matter", then she might figure what's the point in promoting? You know? And that's coming from her manager, so that says a lot...

 

But if she wants to take it slow, and spend some time with her boys, nobody can get mad at her for that. Being a mother should be her first priority and children are only children for so long so you can't blame her for taking it in while they are kids. Britney couldn't have full custody of her boys for the longest time because of the C-ship and now that she has custody she's probably going to want to spend some time with them because all she really had for years was visiting them for however long their arrangement was, so she probably feels like she's missed out on some things because they haven't been there all the time and wants to take the time to spend with them, you know what I mean? To make up for the time lost. I don't know for sure or anything, but my parents had joint custody and both have admitted to that, so if that applies to Britney then you can't blame her for that.

 

Also, she never said that her career isn't a priority, she just said an album isn't her first priority right now. And anyone's kids should be their very first priority in their lives through and through, but that doesn't mean a career can't be a priority too, and she never said that it wasn't.

i think she is just a shy person when she is in the pubic eye and it takes alot of effort and energy out of her to put herself out there when doing a new album so she just wants to take it slow.for a shy/anxiety type person i would assume it would be overwhelming to take on such a workload and being out in the media constantly. she needs a break in between work commitments to recharge the batteries be with her family in a calm non anxious environment and be herself. i don't think it is about being lazy if it was a normal nine to five job i don't think the work load would be an issue i just think it takes alot of effort and energy to put yourself out-there when you are a anxious person like britney.

Oh please, the childrens excuse isn't even real, she's abusing it just to not work. She doesn't even have them all the time since they are with Kevin too. And she has like 2 months of vacations between legs, so enough time to see them and doing other things like recording an album. As if she had no time the only reason is because since she's doing Vegas it would be too much for her to be busy with an album too because she became lazy, that's it. And as you said yes, there would be no tour, again because there is Vegas. Vegas always Vegas.

If she can't do her job properly, then she should consider to retire. As i said many times, it's her job not a hobby. Everyone on earth would like to be with their childs all the time ya know. Because she's Britney Spears doesn't make her a priviliged person and i won't say amen to that. Especially since she has like 6-8 months of vacation during the year so please

If Brit had been a mother during her prime years and doing that much work, then the excuse and over-praise would make sense. But that is not the case.

Hell, being a mother to two toddlers didn't seem to be that big of an issue during Circus era. There are pics of her with the boys in Sweden, ffs. She obviously made it work when possible.

Britney is very very very lucky. Most people don't have the luxury of scheduling their career around their kids or seeing their career as a hobby. A mother (mine for example, a hair stylist) can work every single day for hours and hours to only make a few hundred or maybe a thousand a week. Brit works for 90 minutes for 3 days a week and makes fucking millions. She has plenty of time to be with her kids and work on her craft. Her work load is sporadic, not consistent and grueling.

So they should have left the excuse for working slowly on the album as "We don't want to rush it. More time is needed to time ensure it is of good quality." That sounds much better than saying she has to plan sporting activities. She has a recording studio in her house, right? It sounded like a weak cop out.

Homegirl has got it made more than any of us will ever be able to experience. Making good music shouldn't take away from her time with her kids. School lasts for six hours. We see her going to the dance studio during that time. So really, bringing her boys into the reasoning was kind of unnecessary (and I mean that in a nice way).

 

You also need to understand that she got her kids taken away because of her troubles. I think she wants to make up for that time, i think she wants to really get to enjoy her time with them. Britney is working part time now. She worked full time from 1999-2004 non-stop. You guys can't really expect her to continue to do the same. Like I understand some of you that complain about her half assing things but this is how things are, I figured that after Circus and FF y'all would be used to it.

i never said we have to like everything she releases, there are a lot of stuff i don't like (3, piece of me, oh la la, crossroads etc) but some fans want music soon, if its bad they blame her for being to rush, if she wants to take time she is lazy, so what the hell do they want from her?

I am not expecting her to work as much as she did back then. But I feel like some fans talk as if she has not had a light and convenient schedule for a couple of years now. Unrelated to her music and when she releases it, I just wonder why Britney is almost treated like this fragile thing, like a martyr or something. Brit Brit is such a special snowflake.

I love that she makes time for her kids. It should be automatically assumed she will. So when I assume she is handling her life as a mother--a life that is none of our business--I expect she won't have to explain about how her kids have sporting events so she can't work on her album often. While that is totally understandable, it sounds like a weaker explanation than "I want the album to be really good this time".

And then there's fans acting as if Britney has the most demanding job in the world. Hardly......

Britney released An Album in December 2013. It wasn't what you all wanted. Some of you even whined and wished that Britney released Work Bitch as a promo single.

Circus was released in December 2008 and Femme Fatale wasn't released until March 2011. Then BJ was released in December 2014.

I just Don't see why everybody is bitching. Look at the time between ITZ and Blackout.

Releasing songs and singles during the waits has been a pattern for years with Britney. Only between BO and Circus was there no break and off shot songs/singles..
