It's about quality, not how many fancy producers and writers Britney can name-drop.

It's the writing style I'm worried about, Little Mix do have messages to all their songs and empowerment and stuff but it's delivered in a really tacky way imo and I don't like that. Maybe it's just their swagger that adds to it but I dunno. We'll have to wait and see.

Britney's lyrics in general have never been something amazing, deep and serious anyway. And some of Little Mix songs are even better written than anything Britney did since FF (included).

I agree some LM songs are better than a few songs in FF and BJ but we're here to talk about a single, not some fillers in albums.Singles are supposed to be the best songs on the album.IMO none of LM songs is better than Britney's singles since FF(included), apart from Ooh La La and Perfume(this one is really bad written).So I'm a little worried about the single's quality.

But apparently it's Britney herself loves this song and wants to record it, and I really can't judge a song I haven't even heard.Hope it's a good song.

Really ? Everything is so basic, cheesy or childish on FF. No singles from FF is great tbh in my opinion, TTWE is probably even the worse ("oh oh oh oh oh ...." as a chorus, really  , and the lyrics are just so basic.) hiam also can't be more basic, Criminal could have been fine but the lyrics sounds too childish imo. I wanna go is the best, but it's there's like only 2 verses with 2 different lines and then it's the same lyrics over and over again the whole song.. 

And about BJ, Perfume is a mess. WB i'm just not a fan, way too superficial and reductive.

 

If we talk about singles, "Little Me" shits on everything Britney did since FF. "Move" is at the same level as a song like "HIAM". And "Salute" at least as a meaning unlike Britney's songs, it's a women empowerment song.

HIAM is really a great song although I don't like it.I'm not a music critic so I guess I can only say that the RS gave HIAM 4 stars out of 5.Same with TTWE remix.And FF also got 80/100 by the RS magazine.That's pretty awesome, Kanye West's Yeezus got 90/100 but it's an experimental album.FF is made for the GP.And it's the best reviewed album of Britney's.FF didn't do great in commercial but it still got so many positive reviews from critics, I think it's because of its quality.

People have different tastes, you can say you don't like something, but sometimes you can't say this is bad just because you don't like it.

And no, to judge a song is good or not is not all about the lyrics.Melody and production and singer's voice on it are pretty important too.It's like a novelist writes a great story in a language he/she isn't familiar with, then it still isn't a great novel.I admit some LM songs are powerful and have some meanings but it doesn't mean those are great songs.(I will say they are good songs, not great.)

If you disagree, just give HIAM and Salute to a professional music critic to listen to, and ask him/her which one is better.

You're missing the whole point. Little Mix WROTE the song, that's what people are talking about. So yes, we are talking about lyrics, that's it. At least, i'm talking about lyrics. I'm not judging the songs as a whole here, i'm judging the lyrics of the songs. Little Mix wrote the song so i compared their lyrics with Britney's, got it ?  

I couldn't care less about the production, melody, critics etc.. that's not the point here, LM didn't produce their song neither Pretty Girls. It's about the fact that little mix wrote the song, and that i think that yes LM lyrics are better than Britney's.
