I only think some songs on the Oops album are dated. Girl In The Mirror, Dear Diary, You Got It All & Heart sound dated but are still bops to me today.

Fair enough, but songs like "Cinderella" and especially "That's where you take me" (Jordan Knight had a song like this out at the time - slow paced - and then fast...repeat) from the "Britney" album sound dated to me

I'm not saying it like it's a bad thing though - not at all.

I actually HATE Dear Diary, which I feel bad for saying since Britney co-wrote it... but that shit was cheesy. I like a lot of her earlier/lighter songs though.

IA! I never really cared for Cinderella, it's a cute song and I get it stuck in my head sometimes and give it a listen, but that's it. I love That's Where You Take Me Though! But I agree, dated! But yeah, being "dated" isn't necessarily a bad thing for a song, it just means it has a specific sound similar to what was more popular and generic at the time.

It's ok gurl, I've seen some Dear Diary hate before! It is cheesy. I love Girl In The Mirror though, guilty pleasure.

exactly - it just sounds like a certain time period.  I love "That's where you take me" as well.

Blackout. It followed me through the best years of my life.
