ooh la la Posted April 25, 2015 #1 Report Posted April 25, 2015 do you find it insulting when trans gender people are included with the gay community when people refer to the community.as in people use this acronym lgbt ,if you were a gay person would you feel not a bit insulted your sexual orientation being grouped with transgender cos straight orientation is not included with it. it is made seem sort of not normal and disorder type when grouped with trans gender. is being trans gender not a mental illness. i don't understand the argument against it not being a mental illness just cos people are born with it cos allot of people are born with mental illness.

To me, the LGTB movement refers to the queer community and all the minorities seeking for equalty. The thing is there are way a lot of groups and options out there to use each one of the initials. It would result in a long-ass acronym. 1

It is not a mental illness, and all they want is the same rights we're demanding; it would be hypocritical of us to deny them what we're all fighting for. 2

I'm not disputing the fact that they are good people and their souls are beautiful the same as gay and straight.but what rights are they fighting for they are people the same as everyone else. i personally don't agree that their gender should be legally changed on legal documents cos you biologically cannot change gender regardless of what you feel inside it is medically impossible. this is why i think it may be a mental illness cos there is too much preoccupation with their gender the same as people with body dimorphic have preoccupation with their body.if every person in the worlds body tomorrow changed to being the opposite sex would the majority of the world have an issue with that and have surgery to make themselves look like the opposite sex or live a tortured life being depressed. or would they be oh well this is the new me and get on with their life,i personally would accept it and be indifferent cos i'm myself and just happen to have the add on gender i was given like a lucky dip.i don't think it is good the medical profession validating the cognitive thought pattern of people who are having gender identity issues.instead of the remedy of surgery being given the treatment should be based around acceptance and working on identity of self without the focus of gender.

I'm not gonna say I understand them, because I don't. I was born a male and feel like a male. But to deny them to change sex in their identifications, etc. Just because I don't understand them it would be like a straight person not allowing gays to marry because they don't understand homosexual-ity and why would we choose to be this way and make life harder when we could go on pretending we're straight and be happier. If it makes them happy and I know for a fact that it does, then why not? I'm not gonna deny them that right just because I don't understand it.
