The biggest meltdown ever tbh  When Will VMA 2007 and Desert Performance

I always go back and forth with this album. Sometimes I love it and other times I feel like it doesn't live up to the era surrounding it.

But it has some of her best songs that make up for whatever the album lacks:

Slave

Overprotected

Lonely

Boys (even though we are tired of it)

What it's Like to Be Me

The songs I dislike are the ones that are too childish, such as Cinderella.

Overall really fun and the songs kind of show her transition from cute teen to sultry woman.

3/5 for me. But closer to 3.5/5

It used to be my fave album for many many years. But lately I'm really not so sure about that anymore.

 

I started to wonder if I like the album because of the quality or because of the memories surrounding it. Not only was Britney on top of the world that era but it was also an amazing period in my life. High school, hanging out with friends... No worries, no cares. And this album was the perfect soundrack to it.

 

I do love the combination of the newer sound (Slave, Boys...), the more traditional pop (Overprotected, Bombastic Love...) AND some of the best ballads ever: That's Where You Take Me, When I Found You...

 

So in the end, still a 5/5 for me.

 I am going to have to say 5/5 EASILY ...One of her best Covers. One of if not her best Era and Tour. But also transitioning from Oops into Britney was a total min fuck. In the way only Britney Spears knows how

I've grown to like Britney but I remember initially being disappointed with the album.  Aside from a few tracks the album is pretty underwhelming and that's partly due to the BT produced/written tracks not making the final track listing.  Even now those songs sound just as fresh as they did in '01.  3/5
