I think we never even had rumors about it, besides people saying they never was a real couple, he was only hired because Britney needed a boyfriend to look healthy and to-gether to get more people to buy tickets for PIece Of Me. It was a PR-relationsship. 

I don't believe it myself, I just believe they found out they were only perfect on paper, but maybe there wasn't real love. 
But I would rather him, than anybody else. He is just what she need, a good man with a good job.
