HOW YOU BECAME A STAN

So okay, since the army migrated here. Might a s well make a nostalgia forum to relive good ol' memories. Share how and why you became a stan for our Queen brit-brit in the first place. Sometimes, the backstory is as interesting as the story itself

 

Ok so I'll start:

 

 I was a freshmen back then. I think I was like 12 years old or something back in 2008. I already knew her back then an was aware of how famous she was (like who wouldnt ) but I never really had an interest in pop music then. I could even remember how my classmate shared that Britney had a new song called "Womanizer" and told him "who cares she's a slut" (i know, Im a flop ). What caught my attention was when I was absent on my class once   and I watched the morning news and they feature the womanizer video and how Britney was naked at one scene. I got really curios so I serched it on youtube. I was surprised cause I instantly loved the video. I then found myself playing it on repeat and there wa something about her eyes that drew me in and made something inside me spark. I knew right away that I was bedazzled by her magic. good ol times. :crying5:

I was a fan since Gimme More when I saw the video, but I wasn't a stan untill last year when I went to buy MATM on iTunes and decided to listen to some of the other songs on ITZ and became obsessed.

I was like, 10 or 11 years old in 2009 when I was addicted to Animes  , so I started noticing Britney's songs in some AMV's (Anime Music Videos) and I really loved them (One of them was Girl In The Mirror, because of it, this song is still really special to me because it was this song who made me really into Britney's music!). I got really into Britney and her songs, I found out that I listened to a lot of her songs when I was a kid and then, I found myself addicted to her songs. But, in 2011, I got addicted to Britney again, but it was stronger: I was curious about her life and everything about her. I became a stan really fast, I just fell in love with her. I didn't became a stan because of the FF era, it was really because of Britney and the person who she is 

And now I'm her stan, my love for her is still really big!

very simply, it was the BOMT + OIDIA 1,2 punch

 

I was a fan and defender right off the bat, but had a more innocent crush on her w BOMT era

 

then

 

OIDIA turned me into a mess of a fanboy, totally fell in love with her and basically everything about her

 

and the fuckin rest was history, and in tha bag for me

 

I mean Britney, then ITZ, then BO...ugh how could an original fan lose that (I was in college for ITZ, the timing was perfect)

 

It's for life...I must accept it and own it

Because of my cousin! I remember being in my Mum's bedroom with her and my aunt and Baby One More Time came on an Australian music video show called Video Hits. She told my Aunt that my cousin wants her CD for her Birthday...... I remember liking the song but they were bagging Britney? I don't know how I remember this but I never said anything because I was embarrassed to admit it. So we got her the CD and later that night we went to my cousin's house for her birthday and we played it and loved it. We laughed our heads off to the start of Soda Pop and we still do today as an inside joke. Anyway I don't remember anything after that or telling my mum I wanted the CD but I got it sooner or later. For some reason Crazy was jumpy on mine and my cousins CDs so we never got to hear the song properly. I also remember I invited my cousin over to watch Oops tour on Cable. We had a channel where you can buy concerts like you're going to them and we watched Live in London together.. What U See is What U Get with the cowboy hat was always my favourite 

 

So yeah... that's pretty much how I became a fan. My cousin isn't really into her anymore but she came to see Britney with me for the Circus tour! so it was fun to experience that together

On my fifth birthday, my Aunty gave me the complete Britney's experience from Baby One More Time to Britney (1998-2001) and from that point I've beena Britney Army. I will Always be grateful to that woman.

I had always liked her. Then i saw a picture of her and justin in the denim and my mom told me a bit about their relationship so i looked it up some more on wikipedia and ended up reading the whole page.

 

But the real thing happened when that event had reminded me that i wanted toxic on my ipod and so i got the singles collection. ThenI heard Gimme More and it was such a beautiful experience I got all the rest of her cds after that.

 

And the rest is history

always like Britney. I think the 2009 TCA awards did it for me - she was being praised by everyone there.

 

Started watching videos of her on youtube - ended up watching every music video and interview and anything Britney related by 2010 then I officially started STANNING right before the release of HIAM in early January 2011

I didn't come a fan til post Circus era when womanizer came out because I liked the best tithe song (but I didn't know Britney sang it because it was on my iPod nano) but before that I didn't really care for her until people made fun of her for cutting her hair.

I was probably just born earlier, if you were born in my generation you would probably have been a fan since the beginning too....or perhaps the smaller group of haters at the time and then you came to the light. 

 

I was way more obsessed than I even wanted to be, and I literally had to come to terms with it, because I am the type of person who thinks celebrity worship and culture is lame and shallow. Britney remains the only celeb I care about, not that I hate others...I am even a fan of Madonna and Cyndi Lauper and some other popstars but I dont actually care about them the same way, I just wish them well and listen to music
